It’s two yards long
1. Language function
– Pupils can recognise the difference between English measurement and
Vietnamese measurement.
1 foot = 30.48 cm
1 inch = 2.45cm
1 yard = 91.44cm
1 pound = 0.54 kg
1 mile = 1.6 km
1 metre = 39,37 inches
1 kilometre = 0.62 mile = 5/8 mile
– Pupils know how to make sentences (questions and answer) about
measurement.
2. Grammar and structure:
How + adj + is it (object)?
It’s + quantity + unit of measurement + adj.
3. Vocabulary:
Building up pupil’s vocabulary: how to change from some adjectives of
measurement to nouns:
long length
wide width
high hight
deep depth
tall tallness
thick thickness
4. Visual aids:
– Pictures
– Materials: color papers, scissor, glue
5. Class organization: 20 pupils


Divide into 3 groups
Group one: 10 pupils
Group two: 5 pupils
Group three: 5 pupils

Task: construct a house with three specific dimensions (length, width, height)
Then present before the class about their product.

Materials: disordered sentences which are written in different piece of papers
Task: Rearrange the jumble conversation, pin them into the board and then role-
play
