Figure 4.13 CD38 immunoreactivity in the mouse cerebellum, labeled with goat
polyclonal CD38 antibody-sc-7049. Immunoreactivity was present in the perikarya in
association with the granular cell membrane viewed at low magnification. Upper
panel: intense immunoreactivity observed in the granule cells, identified by its
electron dense nuclei. Immunoreactivity was most intense with mitochondria.
Varying degree in CD38 immunostaing of mitochondria observed in different
compartment. Lower panel: immunopositive mitochondria located in Basket cell.
The enlargements of the encircled area of the basketcell are shown in the following
page. Blood vessel was heavily stained with CD38 antibody (arrow).
