STUDY EFFECT OF DAN SHEN PILL
IN TREATMENT OF STABLE ANGINA PECTORIS
Aims: Study clinical effect of Dan Shen Pill in treatment of stable angina. 2. Search for
tolerance of drug in treatment.
Patients Methods: 50 patients with stable angina at Cardiovascular Department, Hue
Central Hospital, taken ECG, Duplex Echocardiography, Lipidemia, SGOT, SGPT, Uree,
Creatininemia, hs-CRP, 24h ECG-Holter, MSCT coronary Angiography. Treatment: Dan Shen
Pill 10 tabs, 3 times a day. Exam patients 2,4,6,8 weeks after initiation of the treatment. Take
blood tests, 24h ECG-Holter, Duplex Echocardiography after 8 weeks of treatment.
Results: After 8 weeks of treatment, number of angina crisis per week reduces significantly
from 11.8 / week to 0.9 / week. Heart structure and function, IMT, Biochemical parametes are
unchanged after 8 weeks. The most common side effect is insomnia (42%) and diarrhea (14%)
while treated, no other side effects obseved.
Conclusions: Clinically, Dan Shen Pill can reduce angina in patients with stable angina. The
most common side effect is insomnia and diarrhea.
