ABSTRACT
This thesis used the data from the financial statements from 2010 to 2013 of
162 of Non-financial enterprises listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock exchange to
identify the factors affecting bank debt of these business. The thesis using panel
data approach method of random effects model (REM), consider the impact of these
factors: scale enterprises, business performance, asset structure, liquidity, growth
opportunities, business reputation and credit risk to the structure of corporate debt.
Specifically, the variables included in the model consists of two dependent variables
are short-term & long-term bank debt per liabilities and short-term & long-term
bank debt per total assets, the independent variables included in the model are: (1)
Total revenue, (2) total assets, (3) Rate of Return on assets (ROA), (4) margin on
revenue, (5) Fixed assets on total assets, (6) Current Liquidity, (7) The growth rate
of total assets, (8) Enterprises with State capital, (9) The age of the business, (10)
Leverage ( liabilities over total assets).
Results of empirical show that bank debt of the companies listed on the Ho
Chi Minh City stock exchange had the relationship as the same way as asset
structure, liquidity, growth opportunities and credit risk is influenced but inversely
to business performance and reputation, has not found evidence of bank loans is
influenced by firm size.
