A Halloween Rhyme
Trick or Treat!
They rapped and tapped on every door,
Shouting, “Trick or treat! We want more!”
So all the neighbors on our streets
Happily stuffed their bags with sweets.

At six o’clock on Halloween,
Small ghosts and goblins could be seen.
I saw ten pumpkins and a mouse
Ring the doorbell of my house.
A green frog and a black cat, too,
Were followed by a kangaroo.

5
Scary fairies and busy bees
Skipped and laughed among the trees.
Their baskets were so quickly filled
So high that candies even spilled.

7
Lollipops and gumdrops filled their tummies
And their mouths with tasty yummies.
They crunched and munched
through candy lands
With chocolates melting in their hands.
I saw this strange and spooky sight
On a moonlit, eerie, frightening night.

And then one sight struck me with fear—
I gasped! There’s no more candy here!
I cried, “Oh, no, I’m in a fix!
Without more candy, they’ll all play tricks!”
