I was hoping to have
One went to camp,
a fun, playful summer.
and one to the shore.
But my friends are away,
Two went to the mountains;
and it’s just been a bummer.
it’s made summer a bore.

I went to the pool,
I sat there and slept
but a sign said, “We’re closed!”
until I woke to a sound.
I walked right back home
I jumped from my chair
and sat down and dozed.
and had a good look around.

I leaped out the door,
The big house next door
and downstairs I ran.
was for sale for a while.
‘Cause there at the curb
I guess no one bought it
was a big moving van.
because of its style.

But now it’s been sold,
While watching all this
and movers are busy.
I had quite a surprise.
Just watching them work
A big car arrived,
has made me real dizzy.
and I rubbed my eyes.

Out climbed six kids,
I jumped all around
and it seemed to be
and ranted and raved,
they were two sets of triplets
‘cause with these new neighbors,
the same age as me!
my summer’s been saved!
