Peter Pumpkin Picker

He
He
He
He

picked the pumpkins at the farm.
picked the pumpkins in his yard.
picked and picked and picked them,
didn’t find it hard.

Peter loved his orange pumpkins,
He picked them in the fall.
He didn’t pick just one,
In fact, he picked them all.

First, he put them in a cart.
Then, he rolled them down the street.
Next, he parked them at his door.
Last, he went inside to eat.

Peter cooked his orange pumpkins.

He liked them very sweet.
He cooked them, then he ate them.
He found them hard to beat.

Peter loved his orange pumpkins
Because he could munch and crunch.
He ate pumpkin stew for breakfast,
And pumpkin soup for lunch.

Through the season Peter ate,
Until the day he had none stored.
With no more pumpkins on his plate,
Hungry Peter got quite bored.

As the leaves began to fall,
Peter looked for pumpkin clues.
All he found were pumpkin shreds,
Until he bent to tie his shoes. . .

Then he fell on frosty dirt,
And knocked his head upon a mound.
When he stood and looked about,

Can you guess what Peter found?

A lumpy, bumpy little spud
Was poking from the ground.
Two small potatoes in a clump
Was the treat that he had found.

Now Peter loves potatoes,
He digs them in the fall.
He doesn’t dig just one,
In fact, he digs them all.
