Task 2.8: Places you would like to visit
My dream is travelling around the world so I have many cities that I really want to
visit.
First of all, my beloved city from teenage is Oxford, a city in the South East
region of England. I knew this city through a novel called “Beloved Oxford”
written by Duong Thuy, a young writer. Visiting Oxford and Oxfordshire, I will
seek out my favorite TV and film locations such as Harry Potter, The Riot Club,
Testament of Youth, The Golden Compass and more. Oxford has a huge range
of different museums to choose from, for young kids and for adults wanting to
learn more about natural history, science, books, world history, and heaps
more! If possible I wish to visit and enjoy all of them. Furthermore, most of
Oxford’s famous colleges are open to visitors - some free, some for a small
charge. Each and every one of them has their very own character and history, so
I would like to have a look around, especially Oxford University. Honestly, just
walking along ways of Oxford and watching ancient buildings there can make me
satisfied.
Another city I want to visit is Venice of Italy – the city ”under the tides“. The
best way to take in the city is on board a waterbus. The canal may no longer be
teeming with merchandise-laden cargo boats, but it is still the main thoroughfare
of Venice, and only a little imagination is needed to understand its historical
importance. The two-mile trip from the railway station to San Marco provides a
superb introduction to the city, telling me more about the way Venice works.
Every family of note had to have a palazzo here, and this was not just for
reasons of social snobbery. Besides, another favorite things about visiting Italy,
without a doubt, is the gelato. I like ice cream in all its forms, but the Italians have
done something magical with their version. I will routinely encourage people
traveling to Italy to eat at least two scoops of gelato every day. I can also make
ice-cream and experimenting with new flavors using only the freshest natural
ingredients. Stick to tried and true choices such as hazelnut or yoghurt, or branch
out to sample seasonally changing exotic flavors, such as artichoke, fennel,
asparagus or ginger. Imagining the view of sitting on a waterbus in Venice and

eating gelato surely makes my days.
They are 2 cities I would like to visit in my life. Not only being a dream, it’s
also my intention in the future. Thanks for listening..
