0745 ∼ 0800: CHECK E/R QUICKLY
UPPER DECK:
CHECK THE AIR COND. ROOM, PROVISION ROOM AND RECORD ALL WORKING PARAMETERS

OF THE AIR COND. COMPRESSOR, FANS, AND PROVISION MACH. IN RUNNING CONDITION
RECORD NOTES.
SECOND FLOOR:
CHECK F.W. & D.W. HYDRAULIC TANKS CONDITRION AND SUPPLY AIR IF NECESSARY.
THIRD FLOOR:
CHECK F.O. & L.O. PURIFIERS AND RECORD ALL WORKING PARAMETERS IN RUNNING
RECORD NOTES.
CHECK LEVEL AND DRAIN OUT WATER IN F.O. SERV. & SETT. TANKS.
FOURTH FLOOR& LOWER FLOOR:
CHECK AND ADJUST TEMP. OF F.O. DEEP   TANKS. HEATING TEMPERATURE SHOULD BE
KEPT ABOUT 400C ~ 450C
START AIR COOLER CHEMICAL PUMP TO OVERBOARD CLEAN DRAIN TANK. (ONLY AT SEA)
AND RECORD TO THE NOTE IF REQUIRES
*NOW THIS PUMP IS PROVIDED WITH “AUTO STOP” MODE (PUMP WILL STOP WHEN TANK
LEVEL IS 4.0M3) HOWEVER THE STRAINER SHOULD BE CLEANED EVERY MORNING FOR GOOD
OPERATION.
YOU ARE ADVISED TO CLOSE SUCTION AND DISCHARGE VALVE BEFORE OPEN THE
STRAINER OTHERWISE THE AIR WILL ENTER IN TO THE SUCTION PIPE AND THE PUMP WILL
NOT BE STARTED AGAIN. IN CASE AIR IS IN THE SUCTION PIPE, YOU HAVE TO DISCHARGE AIR
BY THE WAY AS FOLLOW:
OPEN SUCTION VALVE OF CHEMICAL TANK, SUCTION INLET VALVE, AIR VENT COCK ON
TOP OF THE PUMP AND CLOSE DISCHARGE VALVE, START THE PUMP AND WAIT. WHEN
PRESSURE INCREASE, CLOSE SUCTION VALVE OF CHEMICAL TANK LITTER BY LITTER
UNTIL FULL CLOSE, OPEN DISCHARGE VLAVE & CLOSE THE AIR VENT COCK (CONFIRM
THE DISCHARGE PRESSURE IS 0.1Mpa ~ 0.155Mpa AND SUCTION PRESSURE IS – 0.55Mpa)
NOTE: AFTERNOON CHECK PUMP AND CLOSE ALL VALVES WHEN PUMP AUTO STOPPED
CHECK LIGHTING SYSTEM AND OTHERS.
0800 ∼ 0830 : MEETING IN C/R AND GET JOB ORDER BY C/E & 1/E
0830 ∼ 1200 : WORKING IN WHICH 1000 ∼ 1030 TAKE TEA TIME

CHECK INCINERATOR BURNER AND AIR INLET HOLDS AT THE FLOOR AFTER DUTY OILER
CLEANED IT. AFTER LOADING RAG & SLUDGE, START INCINERATOR IF NAVIGATION
12:00: TAKE COUNTERS, DATA AND CALCULATE THE CONSUMPTION
12:00 ~ 13:00 : MAKE ENGINE LOG BOOK AND TAKE LUNCH
13:00 ~ 17:00 : WORKING IN WHICH 1500 ~ 1530 TAKE TEA TIME
ON DUTY DAY, START M.O CHECK AFTER THE TEA TIME.
WORKING DAY IS OVER AT 1700.

III, CHECK & MAINTENANCE
1, F.O. PURIFIER
NOW NO.1 IS USE FOR PURIFYING F.O. (G.D Φ 88.5) AND NO.2 FOR D.O. (G.D Φ 107.5) INTERVAL
SLUDGE DISCHARGE TIME IS SET 90 MINUTES FOR BOTH
** CHECK:
EVERY MORNING CHECKS ALL THE OPERATING DATAS: FEED RATE, AMMETER DISCH.
PRESS. PUMP DISH PRESS, F.O OUTLET PRESS, F.O. IN TEMP, OPERATING WATER PRESS, GEAR OIL
LEVEL, HEATER AS WELL AS PURIFIER CONDITION (SOUND, VIBRATION & LEAKAGE), DISCHARGE
TEST. FINALLY, RECORD THEM IN PURIFIER DATA RECORD NOTE.
** MAINTENANCE:
- CLEAN F.O PURIFIER SUCTION STRAINER EVERY DAY BY DUTY OILER OR WIPER

EVERY 2000-2500 HOURS OF WORKING: OVERHAUL AND CLEAN THE BOWL, WATER SUPPLY
DEVICE; RENEW GEAR OIL, CLEAN OPERATING WATER Y-TYPE STRAINER. YOU SHOULD IN
PUT WORKING HOUR OF EACH PURIFIER IN THE COMPUTER AND SO THAT THE COMPUTER
WILL GIVE YOU ADVISE WHEN TIME IS UP

NORMALLY NO.1 IS USED FOR PURIFYING M/E SYSTEM OIL AND THE OTHER FOR D/G SYS.

3, AIR CONDITIONING PLAN
** CHECK:
EVERY MORNING, CHECKS ALL THE OPERATING DATA SUCH AS BEFORE & AFTER AIR TEMP;
FANS AMMETER; COMPRESSOR AMMETER; LO. PRESSURE; COMP. SUCTION & DISCHARGE
PRESSURES; C.F.W PRESSURE & TEMP; CONDENSER REF. LEVEL; COMPRESSOR LO LEVEL AS WELL
AS ITS CONDITION (V-BELTS, SOUND, VIBRATION AND LEAKAGE). FINALLY, RECORD ALL OF THEM
TO AIR COND. PLAN DATA RECORD NOTE.
WHEN THE TEMPERATURE FALLING DOWN, THERE IS NO NEED TO USE AIR CONDITIONAL,
YOU SHOULD PUMP DOWN ALL THE LIQUID TO THE CONDENSER AND CLOSE COMPRESSOR
SUTION V/V BY C/E OR 1/E ORDER. REMEMBER NOT TO SWITCH OFF THE BREAKER FOR THE
COMPRESSOR OTHERWISE THE CRANKCASE HEATER WILL NOT FUCTION.
NOTE: AFTER THE COMP. STOPPED, THE SUCTION PRESSURE OF THE COMPRESSOR SOON
RAISING UP, IT MEAN THAT THERE ARE MAY SOME REFREGERANT RETURN TO THE SUCTION SIDE.
YOU SHOULD CONFIRM AND RECOVERED IT.
** MAINTENANCE:
- CLEAN AIR FILTERS EVERY WAY.
- GREASE UP FAN BEARING EVERY 02 MONTHS.
- CHECK GAS LEAKAGE EVERY WAY.
- RENEW COMP. LO EVERY 01 YEAR  (OR WHEN IT BECOME DIRTY)
4, PROVISION REF. MACHINE
** CHECK:
EVERY MORNING CHECK ALL THE OPERATING DATA SUCH AS L.O. PRESS, COMPRESSOR
SUCTION & DISCHAGE PRESS, CFW PRESSURE & TEMP, CONDENSER LEVEL, COMPRESSOR LO
LEVEL AS WELL AS ITS CONDITION. (V-BELTS, SOUND, VIBRATION AND LEAKAGE) CHAMBER
TEMP, EXPANSION VALVE PANEL CONDITION. FINALLY, RECORD ALL OF THEM TO PROVISION REF.
MACH. DATA RECORD NOTE AND THE COLD CHAMBERS CONDITION SHOULD BE CONSIDERED

- CLEAN CONDENSER DEPENDING ON THEIR CONDITION.
- RENEW COMP. L.O. EVERY 01 YEAR (CHECK IF LO BECAME DIRTY)
5, INCINERATOR
** CHECK:
CHECK INSIDE COMBUSTION CHAMBER IN THE MORNING TIME AFTER DUTY OILER
CLEANED IT. ESPECIALLY, CHECK AROUND BURNER, AIR INLET HOLDS AT THE INC. FLOOR.
** MAINTENANCE:

CLEAN INSIDE COMBUSTION CHAMBER, W.O INLET STRAINER & BURNER EVERY VOYAGE.

CLEAN DO Y-TYTE STRAINER EVERY VOYAGE.

GREASE UP MOTOR BEARING OF FLUE GAS FAN EVERY 03 MONTH.

CHECK V-BELT EVERY 6 MONTHS.

6, ELEVATOR
** CHECK & MAINTENANCE:
- CHECK & SUPPLY LUB. OIL TO GUIDE RAILS EVERY VOYAGE. (USSUALLY WE CARRY OUT TO
INSPECT ELEVATOR EVERY VOYAGE)


-6- CHECK COTTON ROPES EVERY MONTH.
- CHECK DISTANCE BETWEEN COUNTER WEIGHT TO BUFFER SPRING AND WRITE TO RECORD
NOTE (THIS DISTANCE SHOULD BE ABOUT 250-350MM)
- CHECK WIDE OF WIRE ROPE DIAMETERS AND TENSIONS
*ADJUST CAGE’S LEVEL BY MANUAL HANDLE BY C/E OR 1/E ORDER.
- CHECK ALL BOLTS AND NUTS IF LOOSENED IN EVERY MONTH.
- GREASE UP FOR MOTOR BEARING OF ELEVATOR MACHINE EVERY 03 MONTHS (SEE THE GREASE
UP TIME TABLE IN C/R FOR DETAILS).
- RENEW L.O. FOR ELEVATOR GEAR CASE OIL EVERY YEAR OR WHEN IT BECAME DIRTY.
- CLEAN EXHAUST FAN FITTERB OF ELVATOR MACHINE EVERY VOYAGE
7, M.G.P.S
** CHECK:
EVERY MORNING, CHECK FLOWMETER, CURRENT & VOLT AS WELL AS LEAKAGE
** MAINTENANCE:
- CLEAN INSIDE REACTION TANK AND ANODE EVERY 03 VOY.

- CLEAN INLET STRAINER EVERY 3 VOY.
- CHANGE ANODES APPROPRIATE.
- AFTER CLEANING IN SIDE THE REACTION TANK YOU SHOULD CHECK THE INSULATION
BETWEEN ANODES AND EARTH. THIS STEP SHOULD BE CARRY OUT BEFORE SUPPLY WATER INTO
THE REACTION TANK.
- IF IT IS LOW INSULATION, YOU SHOULD FIND OUT THE CAUSE THEN RECOVERED IT BEFORE PUT
INTO OPERATION
8, FO & DO TRANSFER PUMPS
- EVERY DAY CHECK LEAKS, ESPECIALLY AT THE GLAND PACKING.
- CLEAN F.O. TRANSFER PUMP SUCTION STRAINER AFTER STRIPPING ANY TANKS.
- EVERY VOY. TURN THE SHAFT OF D.O. TRANSFER PUMP BY HAND OR ELECTRICALLY.
- NOTE: WHEN THE SHIP STAYS IN PORT, DO NOT TRANSFER THE OIL TO KEEP THE TANK
CONDITION IN CONSTAND.
9, D.O. SERV. TANK
EVERY DAYS, CHECK D.O. SERV. TANK LEVEL, WHEN ITS LEVEL IS ABOUT 25.0 M 3 START
PURIFIYNG BY C/E ORDER. AT FIRST PURIFY FROM D.O. TK TO D.O. SERV. TK, STOP WHEN TK
LEVEL IS READ 34.0 M3 AND THEN CIRCULATION PURIFYIS RECOMMENED. (THE ALARM POINT

10, F.O. DEEP TANK
EVERY DAYS, CHECK THEIR TEMP. KEEP THE TEMPRATURE IN THE RANGE ABOUT 40 0 C ~ 45

YOU HAVE TO CHECK IN USING TANK LEVEL AND CHANGE OVER WHEN THEY ARE
EMPTY.
AFTER STRIPPING FO TANK THE REMAIN FO QUANTITY IN THE TANK IS ONLY 1 M 3 FOR EACH

AFTER TOOK SOUNDING, THE RESULT SHOULD BE RECORD TO THE WHITE BOARD IN C/R

11, M/E F.O. CLEAN DRAIN TANK
EVERY DAY CHECK LEVEL AND TRANSFER WHEN ITS LEVEL IS READ ABOUT 0.8 M3.

12, W/S & C/R UNIT COOLERS
EVERY DAY, CHECK SUCTION & DELIVERY PRESSURE AND ALSO THEIR CONDITION
- CLEAN AIR FILTERS EVERY WAY OR FREQUENTLY ACCORDING TO THE ACTUAL CONDITION.
- GREASE UP FOR FAN MOTOR BEARINGS EVERY 02 MONTHS.
- CHECK THE FAN V-BELT EVERY 02 MONTHS.
13, LIFE BOAT (ENGINES, BATTERIES)
CHECK & TRY LIFE BOAT ENGINE, LIGHTS, STEERING GEAR AND CHARGE BATTERIES
EVERY MONDAY
NOTE: BEFORE CHARGING IT IS NECESSARY TO CHECK VOLT & TRY THE ENGINE WITH EACH
BATTERY, THEN START CHARGING, CHARGING TIME NORMALLY ABOUT 8 HOURS FOR EACH TWO
BATTERIES. AFTER CHARGED, CHECK VOLT AND REPORT RESULT TO C/O & RECORD IN LIFE BOAT
BATTERY CHECK LIST.
14, AIR WASHERS
AIR WASHER SHOULD BE STARTED BEFORE SHIP ALONGSIDE. THE OPERATING PRESSURE OF
S.W SHOULD BE KEEP ABOUT 0.8 ~ 1.0 KG/CM2.
HOW TO START AIR WASHER:
-

OPEN THE PORT USE PUMP OUTLET VALVE TO AIR WASHER, INLET VALVE TO E/R AIR WASHER
AND ACC. AIR WASHER. AND ALSO THE AIR VENT VALVE ARE OPENED THEN START PORT USE
PUMP IF IT IS NOT RUNNING.

THE PORT USE PUMP IS USING FOR BOTH DECK AND ENGINE SO WHEN YOU STOP AIR WASHER,
CHECK IF THE OTHER DELIVERY VALVE OF THE PORT USE PUMP CLOSED OR OPENED, IF IT IS

STILL IN OPEN POSITION, YOU SHOULD NOT STOP THE PUMP
- INLET VALVE TO E/R AIR WASHER AND ACC. AIR WASHER ARE NORMAL CLOSE, ALSO THE
AIR VENT VALVE ARE CLOSED. SO WHEN STOP AIR WASH, ALL VALVE SHOUD BE CLOSED
CLEAN AIR FILTERS EVERY WAY (AFTER DEPARTURE).
BEFORE YOU STOP THE AIR WASHER YOU SHOULD CHECK ALL THE NOZZLES FOR

CLOGGING AND CLEAN THEM WELL. AFTER FINISH CLEANING AIR WASHER, DO NOT TRY IT UNTIL
YOU START IT IN THE NEXT PORT
15, F.W. & D.W. PRESS TANK

MAKE TANK CONDITION REPORT (GIVE C/E, C/O AND 1 PUT IN TANK CONDITION REPORT FILE).

- EVERY MORNING BRING DOWN THE ENGINE LOG BOOK TO C/R AND PUT ON YOUR
WRITING TABLE. AFTER FINISH NOON REPORT PUT IT IN FRONT OF C/E CABIN.
- AFTER CHANGE NEW PAPER FOR LOG PRINTER PUSH THE “ON-LINE” BUTTON.
- AFTER CHANGE NEW PAPER FOR ALARM PRINTER PUSH THE “SELECT” BUTTON

QUANTITIES ARE ORDERED BY C/E) AND THEN REPORT TO C/E AND 1/E

AT THE END OF VOY, CHANGE OVER RUNNING PUMP TO STAND-BY PUMP (INCLUDING
MERGER CHECK). AFTER CHANGING PUMP MOTOR CONFIRM THE STAND-BY ONES BY CHECKING
THE S/B LIGHT ON THE GSP IN C/R

1. CHANGE OVER PROVISION MACHINE
IT IS NECESSARY TO CHANGE OVER PROVISION MACHINE EVERY VOYAGE AFTER DEPARTURE
FROM JAPAN. AT FIRST PUMP DOWN THE WORKING ONE AND THEN CHECK & START RUNNING
THE OTHER ONE. CHECK THE `V` BELTS TENSION CONDITION AND ADJUST IF NECESSARY; ADJUST
THE LIQUID LEVEL IN THE WORKING CONDENSER AND CARRY OUT THE REFRIGERANT LEAK
CHECK. PUT IN AUTO OPERATION FOR THE PLANT.
* RESTART THE REST PROVISION MACHINE

CHECK OIL LEVEL IN THE CRANKCASE OF THE COMPRESSOR.

CHECK V-BELLS FOR THEIR TENSION AND PARALLEL DEGREE.

CHECK WHETHER THE PULLEY MOVES SMOOTHLY BY HAND.

-

CHECK LIQUID LEVEL IN THE CONDENSER.

OPEN COOLING WATER INLET AND OUTLET VALVE.

-

OPEN THE COMPRESSOR SUCTION VALVE HALF WAY. FULL OPEN THE CONDENSER INLET
VALVE

MAKE SURE THAT THE CAPACITY CONTROL SWITCH IS IN “UNLOAD” POSITION AND THE
COMPRESSOR MOTOR IS IN “MANU” MODE.

OPERATE THE COMPRESSOR MOTOR ON AND OFF THREE TIMES OR MORE. CHECK
WHETHER OIL FOAMING IS DEMOLISHED BY THE OIL LEVEL GAUGE

CHANGE COMPRESSOR MOTOR TO “AUTO” MODE, SWITCH THE CAPACITY CONTROL
SWITCH TO “AUTO” AND FULL OPEN THE COMPRESSOR SUCTION STOP VALVE.

OPEN CONDENSER OUT LET STOP V/V

CHECK WHETHER THERE IS ANY TROUBLE WITH PRESSURE GAUGE, OIL LEVEL GAUGE,
LIQUID LEVEL GAUGE, ETC.

CHECK THE OIL RETURN PIPE OF THE OIL SEPARATOR FOR ITS TEMPERATURE. (NORMALLY
ITS TEMPERATURE IS A LITTLE WARMER THAN ATMOSPHERIC TEMPERATURE.)

EASY WAY FOR CHANGE OVER PROVISION MACHINE (EXAMPLE: NO. 2 TO NO. 1)

THE LIQUID IN THE SYSTEM NOW IS ONLY ENOUGH FOR ONE REF. PRO. MACHINE SO IT IS NOT
NECESSARY TO PUMP DOWN N0. 2 MACHINES. WE CAN CARRY THE WORK AS FOLLOW:

CHANGE THE WORKING MODE OF NO 2 TO MANU AND CLOSE THE SUCTION STOP VALVE

START NO2 FOR A FEW SECONDS UNTIL THE SUCTION PRESSURE DOWN TO 0.2KG/CM2. AND
THEN STOP IT

CLOSE CONDENSER INLET STOP VALVE AND LEAVE THE CONDENSER OUTLET STOP VALVE
IN OPEN POSITION

OPEN COOLING WATER FOR NO 1 CONDENSER

-

OPEN THE SUCTION VALVE OF NO1 ONE TURN, FULL OPEN CONDENSER INLET STOP VALVE


- 12 AND LEAVE THE CONDENSER OUTLET STOP VALVE IN CLOSE POSITION

START AND STOP NO1 SEVERAL TIME TO CONFIRM GOOD RUNNING AND HEATING UP,
CHANGE TO AUTO MODE. FULL OPEN SUCTION STOP VALVE

WAIT FOR NO1 RUNNING AND CHECK THE LIQUID LEVEL IN THE CONDENSER, WHEN THE
LEVEL IN THE CONDENSER IS ALMOST FULL, THE NO 2 CONDENSER WILL BE EMPTY. CLOSE
NO2 CONDENSER OUTLET STOP VALVE AND OPEN NO1 CONDENSER OUTLET STOP VALVE

- TAKE OUT ASH & SLAG, CLEAN INSIDE THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER AND BURNER AS WELL AS
AIR INLET ON THE FLOOR
- LOAD SOLID WASTE, OILY RAG OR SLUDGE TO THE INCINERATOR
- CLOSE THE DOORS AFTER FINISH
CAUTION:
- DO NOT LOAD GLASS OR SOME THING WITH FLASH POINT BELOW 600C
- OILY RAG AND SLUDGE SHOULD BE LOADED IN SMALL QUANTITY
- WET RAG AND FOOD WASTE FROM GALLEY ARE LOCATED UP ON THE OTHERS

CSW PUMP AND M/E CFW PUMP. THEIR NON-RETURN DELIVERY V/V ARE LITTLE STICK.
WHEN YOU START THE S/B PUMP AND STOP THE WORKING PUMP THERE MUST BE A BIG
SOUND FROM THE STOPPED PUMP DELIVERY V/V. IT MEANS THAT THE NON RETURN
DELIVERY CLOSED AND SO THE STOPPED PUMP WILL NOT RUN IN THE REVERT DIRECTION.
IF THERE IS NO BIG SOUND FROM THE DELIVERY V/V, YOU HAVE TO FULL CLOSE THE
DELIVERY V/V OF THE STOPPED PUMP OR UNTIL YOU HEAR A BIG SOUND. THEN OPEN IT
AGAIN FOR S/B CONDITION
