* Who, (whom) refer to people.
- Ss review.
Ex: Anya is the one who rescued the bird.

* That and which refer to groups or things.

- That is used to refer to animals, things, or people.
Ex: Lokua is on the team that won first place.
She belongs to an organization that specializes in

saving endangered species.
* NOTE: The difference between "that" and "which”
a/ That - is used with restrictive phrases. Restrictive

phrases are phrase that are essential to the sentence.
Ex: The house that I wanted to buy has been sold.
b/ Which - is used with nonrestrictive phrases.
Nonrestrictive phrases are phrases that state nonessential information. A phrase is considered
nonrestrictive phase if the phase can be omitted from
the sentence.
- T delivers hand-outs and asks Ss
to complete the exercises.
