-is used when we talk about habits:
I get up at 6 every morning.
- to express a fact that stays for a
long time(state): We live in the USA.
- always true about a person or about
the world: The sun rises in the east.
It rains a lot in Britain.
-adverbs of frequency: always, usually,
often, sometimes,never…
-every day/year/month/
morning/night…

The spelling of third person singular:

Affirmative and negative form

-add –s to the base form of the verb
(wants,eats,reads,writes,helps..)
-add –es when the verb end in
ss,sh,ch,x,o..
(kisses, goes,fixes,watches,washes)
-end in a consonant+y change to –ies
(carry-carries, fly-flies)
BUT: vowel+y are normal:
buy-buys, say-says
