Level C & D

Welcome to the PrepMatters Vocabulary Workbook!
This book is intended to help you boost your vocabulary significantly through regular
exposure to some of the most frequently tested words in a variety of alternative formats.
(Hey, we know vocabulary cards aren’t for everybody.)
We are firm believers in improving your vocabulary as it’s an investment that will pay
lasting dividends. You’ll be using these and other words as long as you’re putting
sentences together in speech or in writing—in other words, for the rest of your life!
The workbook covers the PrepMatters vocabulary sets C (#1-250) and D (#251-500). The
words are broken down into 20 word lists. In each set, the words are presented with their
parts of speech, definitions, and sample phrases using the word.
The workbook is intended to be used as a practice exercise. After each 20 word list,
there are sets of exercises: sentence completions, synonyms, and analogies. You do not
need to memorize the words before attempting the exercises. Simply complete the
exercises using the word list at the beginning of each set as a guide. At the end of the
workbook, you can check your answers (pp. 79-91).
We recommend that you try one set of exercises daily (20 sentence completions, 20

synonyms, or 20 analogies.) In any case, it is the habit of regular vocabulary study that
will benefit you most.
We fully expect that with regular practice, you will significantly improve your
vocabulary and verbal skills.
Thank you, and good luck!
