PERIOD 55 - UNIT 9 : THE BODY
A. PART OF THE BODY (A1  A3)

I/ Objectives:
After the lesson, students can name some parts of the body and describe someone’s
apperance and stature.
II/ Language :
1. Structures : He is fat / She is thin
2. Vocabulary : (n) : head , arm , shoulder , hand , finger , leg , chest , foot , toe .
(a) : tall , short , thin , fat , heavy , light
III. Techniques: pairs/ groups work
IV. Teaching aids: textbook ,color chalk , pictures
V. Procedures: Communicative Approach
1. Warm up: T asks Ss to look at the pictures and tell what they’ve learn in this lesson .
Teacher’s and students’ activities:
2. Presentation :
- T has Ss look at the picture of one people
and introduce the new words indicating
parts of the body
- Ss listen to the tape and repeat after the
tape
- Each student read words loudly
- T has Ss look at the pictures and comment
statue of people in the pictures
- T introduces adjectives and says position
of them by giving examples


- Ss listen to the tape and repeat.
- Some Ss read before class to get T’s
correction
3. Comprehension check :
- T asks Ss to close the books and look at
the pictures on the board ( no words ).
- Ss stick each word card with the right part
of the body then read aloud
- Other Ss correct
4. Practice :
- T has Ss remind the pattern given in book
- T asks Ss to practice asking and
answering about parts of the body using the
picture in A1 / 96 ( work in pair )

Content:
A1 . Listen and repeat:

leg , chest , foot  feet , toe .

A3 . Listen and repeat:
 Newwords :
- tall ( a ) # short ( a )
- thin ( a ) # fat ( a )
- heavy ( a ) # light ( a )
 Eg : he is tall
Note : Tính từ đi sau động từ “ tobe “

A2 . Practice with a partner:
What is that ? It’s his head
What are those ? It’s his shoulders

PERIOD 56 - UNIT 9 : THE BODY
A. PART OF THE BODY (A4 , A5 , A7)


I/ Objectives:
After the lesson, students can use adjectives to describe someone’s stature.
II/ Language :
1. Structures : review
2. Vocabulary : ( n ) : gymnast , weight lifter .
( a ) : weak , strong
III. Techniques: pairs/ groups work
IV. Teaching aids: textbook ,color chalk , pictures , tape
IV. Procedures: Communicative Approach
* Previous lesson: T asks ss show their parts of the body and give the words show them.
Write some the words
1. Warm up: Ss describe their classmates’ statue.
Teacher’s and students’ activities:
2. Presentation :
- First , T has Ss look at the pictures and
describe people in the pictures with T’s
help
- Then T introduces the suggestion
- Ss listen to the tape twice and choose the
pictures in order
- Some Ss present their answer to class
after listening to the tape once more
- Ss look at the two pictures in A5 and say
the jobs
- T introduces words
- Ss read the two passages
3. Comprehension check :
- Ss describe their classmates’ statue.
- Others check then teacher corrects their
pronunciation

- use question with “ what color ………… “

2. Vocabulary : the words indicating parts of the head
The words indicating colors
III. Techniques: pairs/ groups work
IV. Teaching aids: textbook ,color chalk , pictures , tape
V. Procedures: Communicative Approach
* Previous lesson: T asks Ss describe anyone in the class and tell what there are on the
face

introduce colors to Ss
- Ss listen to the tape and repeat after the
tape twice

3. Comprehension check :
- T hangs the picture of someone’s face
( no words )
- Ss stick the words cards on the parts of
the face.
- T uses colorful subjects and asks Ss to
say the colors
4. Practice :

- T asks one student about her hair , her
eyes using “ what color……………… ?
- T writes all on the board and asks Ss to
comment the differences of the 2 ways.
- T asks Ss to practice asking – answering
about hair’s color , eyes’ color , or some
objects’ color such as : pen , hat , ruler ,
waste basket,……

B3/ Practice with a partner:

What color are her eyes ?  They’re
brown

* Previous lesson: Ss show and read parts of face. Describe the colors

- T asks Ss to look at the picture and describe

- T has some Ss read the passage aloud
- T corrects their mistakes in pronunciation
3. Comprehension check :

- Ss read the passage silently to get information
- Ss work in pair , asking – answering the five
questions about Miss Chi
- Some pairs of Ss present their work to class
4. Practice :
- T asks Ss to describe their classmates as the
same as Miss Chi’s passage( ind )
- Some Ss read their passage to get T’s
correction
- Then they ask and answer about their friends

They are also educated to help their body health and clean
II/ Language :

2/ Vocabulary: review parts of the face and colors
III/ Techniques: pairs/ groups work
IV Teaching aids : tape , textbook , picture

IV/ Procedures : Communicative Approach
* Previous lesson: Read about Miss Chi and answer the questions.
1/ Warm up : Ss describe their classmate about face , hair , nose , eyes , ……
Other students check
Teacher’s and students’ activities:
2/ Presentation :
- T explains the suggestion (listen to the tape,
write the numbers of the four pictures )
- Before listening , Ss study the 4 pictures and
describe the faces of the 4 person
- Ss listen to the tape for the first time
- After listening for the second time, Ss write
the numbers of the pictures ( T should pause
the tape after each sentence )
- Some Ss present their answers to class after
swapping the answer with their partners
- Ss listen to the tape for the last time so as to
check their answers
3. Comprehension check :
- T has some Ss write some sentences about the
four people as they hear

4. Practice :
- Ss describe their classmates’ hair , face , nose
, mouth , lips , teeth ……
- Then Ss write some sentences on the board
to get T’s correction
