Singular means one; Plural means more than one.
General rule: add -s to most nouns (books)
Nouns ending in s, sh, ch, x or z, and some nouns ending in o: add -es (watches)
Nouns ending in consonant + y: Change the -y into i and add -es (babies)
Some nouns ending in f(e): change f(e) to v(e) and add (e)s (wolves)
