WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?




Level: 1st ESO
Contents: clothes, questions, intonation, pronunciation, introduction to the
present continuous



Methodology: students will listen to some people describing what they are
wearing and will do some on-line exercises after listening. Afterwards, the
whole class will play a game: guessing who is being described.
Key competences: - communicative competence (listening and speaking)
- digital competence




Time: 1 session

Description of the activity:
1. Warming up: setting the scene (whole group)
Teacher shows photographs of different kinds of CLOTHES and asks questions:
· What is this girl wearing?
· What’s your favorite article of clothing?
· Do you like these clothes?
· Does anyone know what this is?
2. Input: listening to some people explaining what they are wearing (individual)
The teacher gives a worksheet with the instructions.


Students will go to page www.real-english.com and will choose lesson 38-What are you
wearing? They will listen and watch the video.
3. Practise: listening and speaking about what some people are wearing (pair
work)
In pairs, they have to do the first 10 on-line exercises from lesson 38 in the Real English
page. Each exercise consists of a short listening and an activity about it.
If they have any doubt, they can look it up at some online dictionaries, like:
or />4. Outcome: a game “Guess who is being described”


One student comes to the blackboard and thinks about a partner and what s/he is
wearing. The rest of the class has to ask questions in order to guess who s/he is.

Listen and watch the video twice.

2. In pairs, you have to do the first 10 exercises of the Real English page where
some people will explain what they are wearing.

3. Play the game “Guess who is being described”
One of you will come to the blackboard and will think about a partner in the classroom.
The rest of you will have to ask him or her some questions and guess who is being

described.
