Each affirmative sentence given below is followed by two forms of its negative. Find the correct form and
say why the other form is wrong.
1. We had a meeting of the union yesterday.
a) We hadn’t a meeting of the union yesterday.
b) We didn’t have a meeting of the union yesterday.
2. James had his head shaved at the temple.
a) James hadn’t shaved his head at the temple.
b) James did not have his head shaved at the temple.
3. I have a bath before dinner every day.

4. The earth moves round the sun.

b) You didn’t have a good time.
