Yeoman Warders
are populary known as
Beefeaters
Their nickname is from
the time when, the
Yeoman Warders at the
Tower, were paid part of
their salary with chunks
of beef.
This took place right up
until the 1800s.

• Today they are tour guides and tourist attraction.
• They have special uniforms and on their chest they have
crown and the monarch initials:
E II R - it means Elizabeth II Regina (in Latin - Queen).
