The Origin
• It’s one of the most important Chinese festivals
• The 5th of May in the lunar calendar.
• The origin of this festival was a man named Chu
Yuan.
• He felt sad because he couldn’t persuade the King,
so he put himself into the river.
• People wanted to find his body. They use the
boats and throw rice into the river to feed the fish
so they won’t eat his body. This is the Dragon
Boat Festival

forward to the rhythm of the beating drums
