EDUCATION IN THE MOUNTAINOUS AREA
HUMAN RESOURCES
The manpower shortage was a big problem for highland education Everyone wants to find a job, a
house in the city. That’s the reason why every year, there’s hundreds of people pour in to the urban
area to settle down . From the countryside to the city, people wants to live a modern life , want to
live in good conditions.
Furthermore ,the teacher work in the highland are also not paid much because the income of the
children’s parents is quite low. No one wants to get the hardships ? So usually, they don’t like to go
so far to work , especially go to a remote place like the mountainous area .
TO day, as far as many people concerned, the political situation in the area has got worse recently.
The influence of the reactionay often come to entice the villagers to react to the authority . They
raise up rebellion in the village and even the neighborhood . So living and working in such a place is
quite dangerous .
Moreover, the conception “ There’s no place like home “. “ Or east or west- home is best “ is also a
reason that disapproves people from going to work in the mountainous area. Anyone wants roses,
and there is no volunteer to go to the highland for children there, who always thirst for knowledge.
They lack nothing but the will.
TRAFFIC
Children and teachers there have to walk for kilometres of mountain road to reach the school.They
‘ve got no transportation or even they have the transporttation,there’s no petrol station to supply
them the fuel to run the vehicle . In addition, in flood seasons, it is very dangerous for them to go to
school. And in dry seasons, going on foot to skull was quite exhausted. The mountainous road is
rough and zigzag . The traffic really prevent the teachers from visiting to children’s family , the
delivery teaching aids as well as other necessary facilities .
HARD LIFE
The rate of life in the area is quite low . The income of the people is not high and the degree of
people’s knowledge is quite limited , so they don’t want spend much or even any money on your
children’s studying . In the mountainous area, there’s so many people hungry , or people live below
the poverty line . All they think about is to have day with 3 meals . The children’s family need them
to work, to make money, so they are not allowed to go to school. There’s some people want their
children to go to school but they don’t have enough money because they have too much children <

every pairs of husband and wife have about 5 children > , and it’s difficult for them to pay the tuition
fee for all of their children .
For the same reason, the equipment of the education system is not good . The school are often built
as a group of cottages , all the facilities the teachers have is chalk and an old board

THE GOVERNMENT’ S POLICY OF EDUCATION
Today, the government are trying to improve the situation .
They have many policy of education to attract the young to go to the mountainous area such as raise
the salary for all who volunteer to work in the area .
They also appeal to people’ generosity to raise fund for the education . Every year, our school have
subscription to the poor and the people live in the mountainous area ( such as the recent
subscription of warm clothes and facility for studying ) to the children in Ha Giang province .
The government has cared mor about the equipment of the education system there . They have
invested more money to build strong school instead of the cottage school , they supply the school
with modern facilities like : new board , chalk, desk , labaratory tool , etc.
The traffic is also being improved . The asphalted road replaces the rough and zigzag pathway …
Many things are being improved to give the people in the mountainous area a better education
system
