CONSOLIDATION
A. Objectives :
1. Knowledge Helps Ss to consolidate the grammars to prepare for the forty-five
minute test. By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to consolidate the grammar they have
learnt.
* Vocabulary: Unit 12 to Unit 14.
* Grammar: Past Progressive, Passive form, Compound words, Reported Speech
B. Procedure :
1. Greeting & checking absence
- Greeting in English.
- Absence
2. Warm - up or Revision: None.
3. New lesson:
TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENT’S ACTIVITIES
Practice 1
- Ask Ss to review the texts in the book and
the new words they have learnt.
- Give Ss some exercises to review.
Exercise 1: Complete the passage with a
suitable word.
Centuries ago in Ancient Greece, a man by
the name of Antipater of Sidon ______a list of

world. The seven included the Hanging
______of Babylon in present-day Iraq, the


Statue of Zeus in _______, and the Pyramid of

*Compound Words
- Introduces the requirement & asks Ss to
work in individual to use the words given in
the box to fill in the gaps.
- Asks Ss to compare & give the answers.

Time: 10 M.

- Working in individual to use the words
given in the box to fill in the gaps.

- Introduces the form & elicits the model
* Form: Passive form in the present simple.
Subject + Tobe + past participle.
* Use: -Used when the subject is affected by
the action of the verb.
* Transformation: (From active to passive)
+ Active: S + V + O.
+ Passive: S + be + P.P + by + O.
4. Passive voice:
- Eliciting the model & giving example.
* Example:
I love my parents
My parent are loved by me.
PRACTICE
- Introduces the requirement & asks Ss to
work in pairs to rewrite the sentences in
Language focus 1 in the passive form.
- Asks Ss to compare & give the keys.
- Comments & comments.
Time: 10 M.
5. Rewriting:
- Working in pairs to rewrite the sentences
in Language focus 1 in the passive form.
- Comparing & giving the keys.
* Answer keys:
b. Then the glass is washed with a
detergent liquid.
c. The glass pieces are dried completely.
d. They are mixed with certain specific
chemicals.

e. The mixture is melted until it becomes a
liquid.
f. A long pipe is used. It is dipped into the
liquid, then the liquid is blown into
intended shapes.
E. CONSOLIDATION ( Time: 4M ):
- Asks Ss to summarize the grammars..
* Home works: - Study the grammars & redo the involved exercises.
- Prepare for forty-five minute test.
