Dear Jane,
Thank you for your letter which arrived here yesterday. It’s a pity the weather in Samson was so
bad, we didn’t have good weather, either. My mother says it is the worst summer she can
remember. While I was driving along the coast road the other day, there was a terrible storm. I
couldn’t see and was afraid I would have an accident, so I stopped the car and waited for the storm
passing. Some people say men drive more carefully than women but I don’t think so. It took me a

1. NAM: I have had a great holiday with my family. We did a lot of things, such as fishing in
the lake, buying postcards and souvenirs, and visiting friends.
2. HOA: I enjoyed the vacation myself. I traveled alone, so I could do anything I liked. I
swam in the stream and tried local dishes. Oh I also took a boat trip around the island. It
was really interesting.
3. HUNG: My class and I had very nice time together in the countryside. We visited rice
fields and watched farmers work; we went fishing and prepared meals ourselves. We also
