E. LANGUAGE FOCUS
I. Pronunciation: The pronunciation of the ending “s”
Phát âm nhũng tù tận cùng -s/-es = /s, z, iz/
Phát âm tận cùng là –s ta phải dựa vào âm cuối cùng của động từ hoặc danh từ trước khi thêm s- es

Nguyên tắc
1. –s- Tổng quát: Sau 5 âm là / p, t , k, f , θ/ tận cùng là _s hay _es đều dọc là /s/
VD: stops = stop + /s/
works = work + /s/
laughs, thinks, stops, wants, roofs, rocks, coughs, physics, paragraphs,...
2. -s> Ngoài những âm trên, các phụ âm còn lại và các nguyên âm + w /r /v , khi phát âm –s thành z
VD: calls = call + /z/
plays = play + /z/
robs, adds, fills, runs, rings, draws, stirs, loves, lives, logs, trains, beds, wives, ...
3. -s> Tổng quát: Sau 6 âm /s, x, z, ∫ , ʒ, t∫, dʒ/ tận cùng là _s hay _es đều được đọc là /iz/

- Hầu hết động từ có 2 âm tiết thì trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ 2
Ví dụ: to preSENT, to exPORT, to deCIDE, to beGIN
- Nếu âm tiết thứ 2 chứa nguyên âm dài, nguyên âm đôi hoặc kết thúc vơi nhiều hơn một phụ ân thì âm
tiết đó nhận trọng âm

I / STATEMENT ( Câu trần thuật )
A. Saying verb ( Thay đổi động từ nói / Động từ tường thuật)

- Chuyển “said to => told”
- Không đổi said nếu không có “to”.
- Bỏ dấu : ; “ ” ; , và thêm liên từ “That”
B. Persons ( Thay đổi ngôi thứ )
_ Ngôi thứ nhất( I , We ) cùng ngôi với chủ từ của động từ nói.
- Ngôi thứ hai ( you ) cùng ngôi với túc từ cùa động từ nói.
_ Ngôi thứ ba ( He , She , It , They ) giữ nguyên,không đổi.
Cách đổi đại từ :
- “Ngôi thứ I”- đổi hợp với S của m.đề g,thiệu là ngôi III (số ít): he, his, him, he, her, her
* và ngôi III (số nhiều): they, their, them
- “Ngôi thứ II” - đổi hợp với O của m.đề g.thiệu :
e.g :O của mệnh đề giới thiệu là “him” thì ta có thể lấy các đại từ cùng với nó như : S thì lấy He;

eg: Susansaid to Nam, “I will go to the circus with you” ( you là O ngôi thứ II)
→ Susan told Nam she would go to the circus with him. ( him là O hợp với Nam
