1. Ideas

View 1: Vietnamese graduates are qualified:
+ University educational program provides general knowledge about vocational fields 

2. Sample answer
Nowadays, it has been widely argued about the quality of Vietnamese university graduates for
the job market. While some people say that they are still inexperienced and tend not to be
competent enough for the work’s requirements, others believe they have acquired adequate
knowledge and been ready for their jobs. In my opinion, I reckon that gains from university

educational curriculum, though important, cannot equip these students with practical experience
expected by their employers.

On the one hand, university graduates grasp a valuable opportunity to be trained in an
educational program which generally specializes in vocational fields. The subjects provided
during their academic years stay focused on enriching students’ knowledge of their chosen
majors and at the same time broadening their horizons to help them familiarize the real market.


Moreover, undergraduates are also given a variety of chances to get internship courses in
current businesses to practice written theories. This plays a vital role in helping these students
understand authentic procedures and operations in the job.

On the other hand, a wealth of needed experiences and skills which headhunters are looking for
cannot be found in a Vietnamese fresh graduate because of several reasons. Firstly, despite
being standardized and widely recognized, applied syllabus is still considered outdated
compared to the ever-changing development of the economy. Secondly, it is not true for all
students with remarkable academic achievements to excel in work environment as they might
lack effective working methods which are not trained and practiced along with educational
program. Thirdly, the importance of decision-making skill which has a direct effect on the
business’s productivity and prospect in work goes beyond university graduates’ ability.

In conclusion, despite the fact that knowledge acquired from university education is
indispensable, it is inadequate to help graduates be well-prepared for the job market after
finishing their academic time at universities.
