ENHANCING LISTENING COMPREHENSION SKILL THROUGH ENGLISH
SONGS FOR ENGLISH MAJOR FRESHMEN AT DONG THAP UNIVERSITY
ABSTRACT
A student with good listening comprehension skill will be able to participate more
effectively in communicative situations. However, this is a major problem which
English major freshmen at Dong Thap University are facing because of listening skill
is one of the best difficult skills in English. Thus, the writer wants to help students can
solve this problem and make them relieve stress after hard study days. In this paper,
the writer applied the qualitative and quantitative methods to do the research. Then,
the collecting data instruments such as questionnaires and observation were used to do
the study. It is hope that not only English major freshmen at Dong Thap University but
also many students at other Universities use English songs to enhance their listening
comprehension skill.
