what it is like
how you spend time there
and explain why you think it is a good place for relaxation.
MODEL ANSWERS
In this hectic life, it is easy for people to get stressed
out from different situations. Therefore, we all need a
place of rest and relaxation where we can temporarily get

away from the hustle and bustle of the daily life.
Everyone needs a place to hide away. For me, that is the
kitchen. I choose blue and white for kitchen‟s wall because
those colors help me to unwind. On top of that, I enjoy
every single moment spent in the kitchen. When I cook
in the kitchen, I find myself in another world where I am
able to mix all ingredients together to try out a brand
new recipe. Therefore, there are many baking stuff and
machines arranged nicely in my kitchen. After cooking,
I usually invite some of my close to come
over and throw a party to enjoy my home-made cakes
and dishes; but every now and then, I just cook for my
family. My mother and father always give some
generous compliments on my cooking skills and keep
telling me that cooking is my inborn talent, which makes
me jump for joy. That‟s why I always love to be in the

kitchen. It also becomes a very social place where everyone
in the house gathers together to have a small chitchat about our daily life. Therefore, kitchen, for me,
represents a place of spiritual meaning. I believe that
the warm from kitchen will warm up the house and the
moments we spend in the kitchen can help strengthen
the family bonds.

The idea was put forward by my sister. We planned to
surprise him and prepare his favorite foods. On that day,
my Mom cooked Pho, a Vietnamese beef noodles, while I
baked a birthday cake for him. My siblings were in
charge of decoration and music. Everything had been
done properly a little bit earlier before he came home.
When he opened the door, he was astonished because of
seeing a colorful “Happy birthday Daddy” banner sticked
on the wall in the living room. Standing in front, my mom
gave him a bouquet of red roses, his favorite flowers. We
enjoyed the scrumptious meal and shared our best
memories with my Dad.
After washing dishes, we gathered together in the living
room. My Dad made a wish and blew candles. He said in
tears that he was over the moon and he was proud
of us, his home and his family. We gave each other great
hugs before going to sleep.

SAMPLE ANSWERS
When it comes to talking about the past, I am of the
custom to talk about the year when I was 15 and in the
last year of secondary school, as it is the time I enjoyed
mostly in my life.
At that time, my friends and I had a really hectic schedule
to prepare for entering high school. It was really a nerveracking period of time when we was up to our eyes
in assignments and revision. However, as all of my class
mates enjoyed each other’s company so much and
were so close to each other, we tried to share happy
moments with each other as much as possible, in parallel
with finishing all of our tasks at school. Because we didn‟t
have much spare time, we managed to capture our best
moments in break time. Instead of going on a trip
together, we shared with others every tiny things in our
daily life, which helped connect our souls. Though that
time was hard to us all, as we had been under a lot of
pressure to be able to be admitted by high-ranked high
school, the friend among us helped all of us relieve
stress, lift up our spirits and recharge our
energy to make concerted efforts to get into our

desired schools. At the time, friendship was really the most
wonderful thing to me.
Now, when we‟re all grown-up and have to live a hectic
life to make end meets, we still try to cement
our relationship. Sometimes, we have a whale of a
time in our reunions when taking a trip down
memory lanes about those good old days, when we
were carefree and so close to each others. Those
memories are the most beautiful things we have had
together, which helps build up our long lasting friendship
until now.

SAMPLE ANSWER
Well, fat belly is always of the top concerns of all women
in this whole world, and I am not of an exception. So,
for the last 3 years, when my belly becomes fatter and
fatter, I would like to take some physical exercises to get
toned and make my body into good shape, looking for a
prospect of getting a slim body, which would definitely
make others green with envy.
I‟ve planned to achieve this objective carefully. I asked my
friends, who are in physical training courses, for advice

on which kind of exercises I should take. I carried
out some research, too. Then, I found out that I should
practice squat, and sit-up. I installed an app in my
mobile phone, which helped me keep track of my
practice and give me some certain advice provided by
professional trainer.
Unfortunately, I couldn‟t persist in this practice for too
long as in the first day, I was so eager that I practice squat
too much, which caused muscle‟s tension. Thus, I had to
rest for some days after, which lowered my motivation.
Finally, after those days, I gradually gave up on my
practice and my belly continued to grow. Admittedly, it
was really a shame to me as I thought I could achieve that

goal.

Sample Answer:
I have attended so many birthday parties, but the one I
remember the best is the birthday of my grandfather when
he turned 80. That celebration is one of the best
memories I can keep about him.
To people in our country, 80 years old is a
special milestone in everyone‟s life as the old people are
respected for their experience and wisdom. Thus, in
80th birthday celebration, people often hold a big and
extremely memorable party, inviting a lot of people to

attend. Among invitee list, there are a lot of our relatives,
neighbors, friends and local authorities.
My grandfather‟s 80th birthday celebration took place in
a convention near his house. It was such
a quality time for my whole family and all our beloved
relatives and friends to sit together. Everyone tried to
choose a special gift for my grandpa. I was a little
bit astonished when I saw the number of gifts my
grandpa received, which meant how much my grandpa
was loved. People also sent greetings to him, which are
mostly about health. Then, people enjoyed the party with
delicious and well-prepared food.

However, the most lovely part of the celebration was the
time after party. When all of invitees had left, our family
gathered together and took a trip down memory lane.
It reminded me of the good old days, when I was knee
high to a grasshopper and still a little stubborn girl
who always got into trouble. No matter how serious
problem I got, I could always ask my grandpa for helps or
advice as he would never turn his back on me.
Time flies so fast, but memory still lasts. Grandpa and his
80th birthday celebration would definitely be among my
sweetest memory.

Honestly, I had to admit that I am quite a down-to-earth
person and barely either spend time imagining or day
dreaming. However, every now and then in school life,
imagination is life saver in remembering the
knowledge imparted, especially in the subject of History.
Indeed, envisaging a chain of images and actions inside
my head based on the story or series of events in the book
enabled me to acquire new things way more efficiently. For
instance, in the time of learning about the history of
chocolate, by utilizing the technique of imagine and
envisage the image, just like making a movie inside my

head,
I
could
remember
quickly
a
quite enormous knowledge and can still recall today. I
can tell you that wild chocolate trees can grow easily in
the humid Amazon rainforest. Clusters of flowers from
these trees turn to seeds. Approximately 20 to 60 cacao
beans, which are the ingredient needed to create
sweet, soothing and delicious chocolate treats, can be
found in the seeds. The Mayan and Aztec cultures both
thought that chocolate trees are brought from paradise by
God. They used the bean from this divine tree to create a
special beverage with a very pleasant odor. Gradually, the

really caught my attention. Some of my friends
were already “interested” in Echelon official page, others
were even “going”. It piqued my interest so much that
I paid a visit to their website to figure out what their

2016 this November is a 2-day international technology
and investment event for entrepreneurs and business
leaders within and outside Vietnam. It is appealing not
only to big tech companies but tech savvy individuals as
well. The event aims to reach out to foreign
investors, raising
funding
opportunities and
developing the tech and startup community in
Vietnam in the era where tech disruptions are leading
almost every industry. With some of the most brilliant
and world-class speakers, attendees are going to get

Describe your favorite song.
You should say:
What is the song about?
When did you first hear the song?
Why is it your favorite?
Band 8.0+ Sample Answer
Honestly speaking, for the most part, I would probably say

that I have a great passion for listening to music and
indeed I have listened like thousands of songs so far.
However, if I have to pick out a song that I like the most,
I would probably choose the song Million Years Ago by
Adele. By gorgeous lyrics and melody, it‟s like a piece of
cake for Adele to make me addicted to this song. A
significant feature that I should mention is the song‟s
meaningful content. It is a regretful calling inside an
adult who has born his soul on the way of growing up
and earning his stripes. Every now and then I feel he
is so desperate that he could do anything to escape the

cycle of his life but after all he can‟t afford to do so. The
reason why I am so fond of this song has something to do
with the fact that it provokes so many beautiful
memories from my childhood. Although this song is a sad
song, it opens my eyes to many things in life, one of
them is that you should not take anything for granted,
even the simplest one, try to live to your fullest so that one
day you would not have to regret that much about the
journey that you have been through. Fairly speaking,
Million Years Ago is a really good songs for self –
reflecting especially when you find yourself lost in the
super busy world nowadays.
