Passage:
The Canadian Arctic is a vast, treeless polar desert that's covered with snow for
most of the year. Venture into this terrain and you get some idea of the hardships
facing anyone who calls this home.
3. For thousands of years after arriving, they have had to rely on catching marine
species as a means of sustenance.

to their husbands and wives.

In one well-known test, women and men were able to distinguish by smell alone
clothing worn by their marriage partners from similar clothing worn by other
people.
2. Certain linguistic groups may have difficulty describing smell because they lack
the appropriate lexical items.

Odours, unlike colours, for instance, cannot be named in many languages because
the specific vocabulary simply doesn't exist.
