What qualities and skills are needed for the managers to manage people?

What makes a good manager? How to manage people?Understanding what it takes to
be a manager is not always easy .There are many managers out there but few are good
ones. The goal of a good manager is to achieve best results through leading, developing
and managing your team. What does it take to manage people efficiently and effectively
and get the best out of them? What do you think are the most important skills?
If you are in a position that requires you to manage even a small team, here are the 7
essential qualities and skills you would be wise to develop.
1.Good communication
This is the main and prerequisite skill. Without being able to communicate
properly you can forget about the rest. In all kind of management tasks the first and most
common thing you do is communicating your needs, expectations and opinions to other
people. If you don’t like working with people, you shouldn’t become a manager.
Moreover, you should be able to send correct messages to others and ensure that they
understand you. It is also very important what kind of power you use to persuade your
views.
2.Good organization
This is the second most important skill. You have to be able to schedule, organize
and follow your own plan. It also involves understanding the rules and processes in the
company and among people, and predicting what will happen and when.
3. Leadership
Listening to other coworkers’ problems is not sufficient. A good manager has to

solve them and prove his commitment to the team goals. It’s also his responsibility to
define goals together with his team and assign the responsibility to team members in a
clear manner. He has a clear vision in what direction he wants the team to grow. He
should ‘infect’ others with this vision and make them follow the same direction.
4. Dealing with changes

There are several managers who exactly know the whole working process. They
are doing things almost automatically. The true manager should be flexible and adaptable.
He is able to react quickly when facing any obstacles. Stress shouldn’t be a factor to
prevent him from taking the right decisions.
5.Consistency
Consistency is the best protection against the difficulties that you encountered. It
awakens a burning passion and determination never wavered. A strong manager needs to
stand firm in his decision. However, this doesn't include the conservative ideology,
obstinate not fix mistake. Moreover, managers must know, in favor of right to arbitrate in
its internal conflict. A talented manager to stand firm in their decisions don't fluctuate in
any situation, the right decisions at the right place is an outstanding ability of managers.
The managers never surrender difficulty. Everything is not always easy for them.
Managers have to make important decisions while others usually try to stay away from it.
Whether these decisions will sometimes make a big impact affect the relationship
between them and the people around them, they also have to accept that.
6.Vision
Managers must have the ability to have a vision or see the big picture. Vision can
be considered the most important is the ability of the managers to manage people. Have a
good vision, managers can propose viable strategies, implement the plan in the right
direction. Vision is essentially an individual's subjective intuition. Managers must know
the combination of subjective perception and external factors to achieve the ability to
cover every issue that now about to face. Managers have a clear vision in what direction
they want the team to grow. They must be able to communicate their vision to their team

members and make them follow the same direction. Vision is the ability to hire and retain
the right people for the organization. Visionary managers make the employees feel that
they have stake in organization's success.
7. Domain knowledge
A good manager has to understand what kind of process he is managing. How his
team members are working. What kind of tasks they perform. This skill is not as
important as the others but without it, in some cases, the team and the manager will never
work at full capacity, using the whole potential due to lack of mutual understanding.
All these qualities and skills are easier said than done. Becoming a good manager is a
process. The qualities and skills of what makes a good manager is only the beginning to

help you set a vision of how a good manager should behave. If you invest time, you will
become a good manager over time. Best wishes on your journey.

What is the importance of good human resources management?

An organisation can not build a good team of working professionals without good Human
Resources. Therefore, good human resource management is very important The Human
Resources Management (HRM) include 3 key functions:
1. Recruitment and Training

This is one of the major responsibilities of the human resource team. The HR
managers design the criteria which is best suited for a specific job description. Their other
tasks related to recruitment include formulating the obligations of an employee and the
scope of tasks assigned to him or her. When needed, they also provide training to the
employees according to the requirements of the organisation. Thus, the staff members get
the opportunity to sharpen their existing skills or develop specialised skills which in turn,

will help them to take up some new roles.
2. Maintaining Work Atmosphere

This is a vital aspect of HRM because the performance of an individual in an
organisation is largely driven by the work atmosphere . A good working condition is one
of the benefits that the employees can expect from an efficient human resource team. A
safe, clean and healthy environment can bring out the best in an employee.
Way to create a positive work environment is make it fun. Everyone wants to be where
people are having fun, so make your work place feel happy and festive..

3. Developing Public Relations

The responsibility of establishing good public relations lies with the HRM to a great
extent. They organise business meetings, seminars and various official gatherings on
behalf of the company in order to build up relationships with other business sectors.
Sometimes, the HR department plays an active role in preparing the business and
marketing plans for the organisation too.

Any organisation, without a proper setup for HRM is bound to suffer from serious
problems while managing its regular activities. For this reason, today, companies must put
a lot of effort and energy into setting up a strong and effective HRM.
