B. Dear Sir or Madam,
1. I am writing to complain about a CD player which I bought from your company
to give my son for Christmas.
2. Almost immediately, things started going wrong.
3. First of all, when I pressed the OPEN/ CLOSE button on the CD player, the
drawer opened and closed so quickly that I did not have time to put a/ the CD
in.
4. The cassette player was even worse: whenever we/ I attempted to record
music, it sounded distorted.
5. Because of these problems, I returned the stereo/ CD player to the shop
where I had purchased it.
6. They said it would take a week to repair but after three weeks it was waiting
for spare parts and was/ had not been ready after two months.
7. When I tried it at home, I found that the CD problem had been rectified but the
cassette player was no better.
8. I am not satisfied with the stereo unit itself or with the service I/ we have
received.
9. And now I am writing to ask for a full refund.
10. I look forward to receiving your cheque of $450.
