3. Selection guide of communication
protocols
A)

Communication protocol that Yamatake has already
installed to an actual project is our first priority.

Our priorities in order are as follows when you’re going
to communicate with first manufactures or products for
Yamatake.

Let us know if OPC Server / OPC Client is required for
your projects. BSC is still considering to use 3rd party
software for OPC.

4. Special remarks of BACnet system
FX2 can only use BACnet IP. Promote Modbus or LON instead of
BACnet if other BACnet protocols like BACnet Ethernet, BACnet MS/TP,
etc. are required.

Get a Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement (PICS) of the
product on the other end of the communication as soon as possible and
confirm their BACnet communication specifications like the protocol
revision, network type and object types, etc.
Get the object list on the other end of the communication for our system
engineering.
For the Yamatake HOST system, note as below.
a.

Estimate one or more SCS for the exclusive use of BACnet processing when
FX2 has trending function or time program for other manufacturer’s products.

b.

Estimate SCOL Management function (BSY45310Z0502) when FX2 has
trending function for other manufacturer’s objects. FX2 needs SCOL program
(analog copy output) to convert SCS external data of manufacturer’s objects
to dummy points.

6. Special remarks of Modbus system
FX2 can only use Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP. Modbus ASCII
and Modbus Plus cannot be supported with FX2.
Get Modbus communication specifications of the product on the
other end of the communication as soon as possible and confirm
the possibility of communication with FX2.
Create a Modbus Device chart for the Modbus engineering at first.
FX2 logically uses a Modbus device as a NC-bus controller. So
one Modbus devices has 99 points in maximum. Add one more
Modbus device in case of using over 100 points per Modbus

device.
The latest recommended Modbus Media Converter is MOXA
MB3170.
