Leisure activities
People may have leisure such as listening to music, watching T.V,
doing sports, playing games or collecting things. Me too. My
leisure activities are reading books. I enjoy reading many types of
books such as newspapers, stories… but my favorite is comic and
novel. I often read in the evening after I finish preparing
everything for the next day's learning. When I have free time, I
often go to bookstores to look for new books. Once a week, I go to
the city library to read there. I sometimes read books online if I
can’t get copies of the books I want. I really like reading because
books help me relax a lot of after school. Thanks for reading, I can
broaden my knowledge and learn new things. Moreover, reading
gets my rich soul. I love reading book very much.

Life in the countryside
In my opinion, life in the countryside is interesting because of
many good points. Firstly, Living in the countryside is really good
for your life because it has a clean environment by there is fewer
car and factories here. Beside there, countryside has lots of green
trees which offer the fresh air so I can enjoy it. It also hasn’t noisy
and pollution. Moreover, all thing in the countryside often cheap,
fresh and safe than city. Special, people here are more friendly,
kind and hospitable. Beside the advantage, it also has a lot of
disadvantage. There are inconvenient because the hospital, police
station and school far away. Moreover, villager’s life is boring
because the technology doesn’t develop. On the other hand, a child
here has less opportunity for higher education. However, I prefer
the countryside because life is simple; people are friendly and the
air clean.

Peoples of Viet Nam
Viet Nam is one of countries which have many ethnic groups.
Today, I want to introduce you about Khmer ethnic. The Khmer
have a population of about one million two hundred sixty thousand
and six thousand. They live in the provinces of Mekong Delta.
They also have their own writing system is Mon-Khmer group.
Near many rivers, main their job is farmer. They grow rice, rise
cattle and poultry. Moreover, they make sugar and anything.
Khmer people wear the Kinh’s style of dress except special
occasion. The tradition dress of us is xampot. They have two main
holidays: New Year and Greet-the-Moon festival. In Greet-theMoon festival, they have many interesting activities such as dragon
boat races, floating lantern.

Our customs and traditions
In my opinion, customs and traditions are very important for the
Vietnamese life. Like other families, my family has our own
customs and traditions. Firstly, there’s a custom in our family of
children standing in a row to greet guests. It expresses respect to
the guest from the host. Secondly we have the tradition of having
lunch together on the second day of Tet. Everyone has to be there
before 7 p.m to have the dinner and talk about the Tet holiday.
Thirdly, It is the custom for my family to spend Sunday together.
We usually go to supermarket or go for a picnic. Sometimes, my
family celebrates grilled party. We all enjoy this customs and
traditions because they provide our family with sense of belonging.
Moreover, it makes us closer as a family and help make life better.

Festivals in Viet Nam
Vietnam is a country with a treasure is very rich festival. Inside, I

like Mid-autumn festival best. This is the day children’s festival,
also known as the “Festival looks Moon”. Mid-autumn Festival
held in everywhere of Vietnam on 15th lunar month every year.
Children are provided many kind of lantern. In some areas, people
also held dragon dance, lion dance to the children happy. The
children torch light everywhere and sing together. Adult serve feast
by fruit, sweet and many kind of food, specialty is moon cakes.
Moon cakes, which are made from flavor, dried fruit, meat, egg,
pumpkin’s seed, peanut, are so sweet and good tasting. In many
places, people also float lanterns to the river to pray lucky. While,
children are waiting for the moon to rise, they sing, , dance and
listen to the story of Hang Nga and Cuoi. Mid-Autumn celebration
is also an opportunity for members of the family to get together
and share everything in their year.

Folk Tales
Once upon a time, there was a rich man living in a village. When
he died, he left his two sons a fortune. But the elder brother gave
his brother only a starfruit tree. When the fruit was ripe, an eagle
came and ate it. The younger brother begged the eagle not to. The
eagle promised to repay him in gold and told him to make a bag to
carry it. Then, the eagle took him on its back to a place of gold.
When he got home he was rich. The elder brother was surprised, so
he asked his brother to explain. After hearing the story, he offered
to swap his fortune for the starfruit tree and his kind brother
accepted. When the eagle came, the elder brother asked it to take
him to the place of gold. He filled a very large bag and all his
pockets with gold. On the way home, because the load was too
heavy, the eagle got tired and drooped him into the sea.
