INTRODUCTION

After many years of penetrating into Vietnam market, windows, doors, partitions
of preminum uPVC materials have initially created a new trend of consumption for
domestic consumers. Among the manufacturers of this type of door, Eurowindow
emerged as a leading brand, both in terms of screen time, the quality and the market share
of the product.
Through product’s research and practical installation, with many different kinds of
door, Eurowindow always advise customers how to choose the most economical door
which help to ensure functional requirements as well as highlight the luxury and modern
characteristic of the construction. Perhaps, in addition to the quality and reputation of the
products, the professional and enthusiastic attitude toward customers is the reason to
make customers believe in using Eurowindow’s products throughout time. So far, there
have been more than 4,000 construction works using Eurowindow’s products in Vietnam
including office buildings, hotels, apartments, villas, etc. Along the results which have
been achieved, Eurowindow still strive to contribute to the beauty of construction works
across the country.
During my internship in Eurowindow Joint Stock Company, with the help of the
Board and the employees in the company, especially in Sales Department as well as the
helpful instructions from my supervisor Mrs. Vu Thi Thu Trang, I had general knowledge
about the company’s business activities and completed my internship report. However,
due to the first time exposing to the actual work as well as the limited time and
knowledge, my report cannot avoid some mistakes in the content and layout. I expect to
receive the teachers’ reviews to make my report perfect.

PART 1 – INTRODUCTION OF EUROWINDOW JOINT STOCK COMPANY
1.1. Formation and Development
- Nam of company: The European plastic window joint stock company.
- Abbreviation name: Eurowindow
- Headquarter: Lot 15, Quang Minh Industrial Zone, Me Linh, Vinh Phuc.
- Business office: T & M Building, 30 BCD Ly Nam De Street, Hoan Kiem District,

Business registration number: 1903000269 granted by Vinh Phuc Department of
Planning and Investment on March 16th, 2007.
The European plastic window joint stock company was established in 2002 with

100% foreign investing capital, working under T&M Group. On August 29 th of 2002,
Eurowindow Company was granted investment registration No. 25 / GP-VP by Vinh Phuc
People Committee and amended on March 15 th of 2006, with a total investment of 12
million USD.

In May 2007, Eurowindow officially converted to the formation of a joint stock
company under Decree No. 38/2003 / ND-CP. Company operations are organized under
the Enterprise Law No. 60/2005 / QH11.
European Window Company was established to mobilize and effectively use
capital in reproduction, business on many fields which were registered with the goal of
maximizing profit, creating jobs stability, ensuring the justifiable interests of employees,
increasing shareholders’ income, contributing to the State budget and stronger
development.
1.2. Fields of business activities

Eurowindow Joint Stock Company primarily serves the domestic market.
According to certificate of business registration No. 1903000269 granted by Vinh Phuc
Department of Planning and Investment on March 16th, 2007, Eurowindow Joint Stock
Company has permission to do business fields as follow:

Annual Meeting of Shareholders: The highest authority to decide all matters of
the company, including: considering and approving reports from the Board of Directors
about business activities; deciding plans of manufacturing business, investment and
strategy to the development of company; amending and supplementing Charters; electing
the Board of Directors and deciding the organizational structure of the company, deciding
to increase / decrease the charter capital, deciding the quantity of each type of shares to be
offered. The main shareholders of Eurowindow Company include: Eurowindow Holding
Joint Stock Company, BankInvest Group, K/S BI Private Equity New Markets Company,
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Chi, etc.

Board of Management: Company’s managing authority, who has the right to

decide all matters relating to the objectives and benefits of company. Board of Directors
has the right and duty to decide the development strategies of the company; decide to sell
shares and bonds of the company; make decisions on investment plans and tender;
appoint, dismiss, demote general director and chief accountant of the company, set the
salary and other benefits for those managers; propose the annual financial report to the
General Meeting of Shareholders; define organizational structure and rules of internal
management of the company. Eurowindow’s Board of Management includes: Mr. Nguyen
Canh Son (President), Mr. Nguyen Canh Hong (Vice president) and other members.
Board of Directors: The legal head representatives of the company, who have
executive and management function to implement all manufacturing business activities
and other activities of the company as well as directly operating activities of all
departments in the company. This is the Company’s representative signing documents and
contracts as well as giving foreign policies, orientations, development strategies and
taking legal responsibility for the entire manufacturing business activities of the
Company. Mr. Nguyen Canh Hong is Eurowindow’s General Director.
Administrative and Personnel Department: Implement recruitment of quality
assurance requirements as well as the company's strategy. Organize and coordinate with
other departments to manage human resources, training and re-training. Develop
compensation regulations, measures to encourage employees to work; implementing the
regime for employees. Executing and implementing policies and regulations of the Board
of Directors. Researching, drafting and submitting the rules to apply in the company,
building the organizational structure of the company. Assisting the administrative work
for the Board of Directors in directing - operating activities in the company. Supporting
other departments in managing human resources and playing as a link between the Board
of Directors and employees of the company.
Manufacturing factory: There are many small parts working directly under the
factory to make the good productivity, reduce to the maximum cost of production, and

complete the progress to match the sale department’s requirement, simultaneously the
factory will corporate materials to catch up with the input materials using progress, and
provide adequate supplies when necessary for producing.

purchasing goods for the company; finding and evaluating the suppliers of goods and

services; getting and handling quotes.
Sales Department: Divided into several parts: direct sales, showroom sales,
indirect sales, agent sales, project sales. Sales department is always supported by other
departments in order to achieve the sales objectives of the company. All orders of
business staffs must be designed and set out the price to be sold before moving on factory
to be produced according to production proposal. Thus, the company can ensure the work
quality, respect the views of customers, while they can advise customers of the type, the
kind of company products, ensure the accurate production according to size of production.
Advertising and Analyzing Department: Implementing sales promotion
programs and promotions, seminars, fairs for company’s brand development.
Customer Service Department: Managing all output and input information of
customers, understanding the production progress of every projects, receiving information
of the customer guarantee, controlling warranty issues arise during using process.
With the principle of voluntary activity, democracy, equality, publicity and unity in
accordance with current regulations, Eurowindow Joint Stock Company has established
an effective management model suitable for the actual model and condition of the
company.

The organizational system of the company is unified from top to bottom, every
activity was issued from the Board of Directors to the Directors to the operating
departments with many teams and the factory. The entire operation of the system is placed
under the direction of the Board of Directors and the Directors.

CHAPTER 2: BUSINESS ACTIVITIES OF EUROWINDOW COMPANY
1

Company’s market and main products

2.1.1. Company’s market
Eurowindow Company primarily serves the domestic market, with the goal of
becoming the biggest supplier of Doors – Windows – Curtain Walls in Vietnam. The
company has 5 factories based in Hanoi, Da Nang and Binh Duong Province. Besides, the
company also has a wide-spreading distribution network all over the nation with 3
branches, 40 showrooms and a hundred of local dealers and distributors.
Eurowindow Company’s factories are equipped with complete advanced production lines
produced by European leading branch such as: URBAN, FRIZ (Germany), MARVAL,
MACOTEC and PERTICI (Italy).
2.1.2. Company’s main products
 Glass
o Toughened glass: Toughened glass is a type of safety glass processed by

controlled thermal treatments (up to roughly 700°C) and then cooldowned by
air to create surface’s tension, increase its ability against strength, arbitration

and breakage which is created by temperature’s pressure.
o Heat strengthened glass: Heat-strengthened glass is processed by the same way
as toughened glass but heated and cooldowned by another way.
o Decorative glass: Decorative glass is fabricated under advanced equipment and
machines imported from Italy which are fully automatic programmed to
engrave variety of shapes and designs upon glass surface.
o Laminated glass: Laminated glass has a special structure consisting of one pane
of glass with one or more panes of glass. Each glass pane is rinsed off by
ionized water before being applied to each other with PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral)
interlayer which then being autoclaved at 130°C to create the required
transparency.

 uPVC Windows and Doors: uPVC Windows and Doors are reinforced by uPVC

profile with steel tube to intensify the frame’s rigidity; multi - point locking system
provides solid security; 3D hinge allows the multi - opening directions; dual seals and
gas filled glazing help to prevent the infiltration of wind - driven moisture, noise and
heat.
 Curtain wall: Eurowindow’s curtain wall is made from high quality aluminum profile,

integrated with thermobreak that enhances the thermoacoustic and weathertight

performance. Aluminum curtain wall can meet unlimited demands from the customer
by offering numerous options such as: windows, door, curtain wall, skylight, etc.
 Timber door: Two wood factories have been built in Quang Minh Industrial Zone
(Hanoi City) and Tan Uyen Industrial Zone (Binh Duong Province) with continuous
production lines transferred by long standing experienced wood makers come from
Italia, Spain and Russia. It not only remains the natural beauty of wood but also adds
numerous superior features like: solid stability, tightness, smooth operation, aesthetics,
quick installation.
 Aluminum-clad wood system: Eurowindow’s aluminum-clad wood system combines
the best characteristics of wood and aluminum – beauty and performance – without
the compromises. The aluminum outer part plays as a weather shield sunlight, rain,
corrosion and rusty whilist the wood inner part brings thermoacoustics, beauty and
harmony of interior décor.
 Wood flooring: Eurowindow’s wood flooring are available in two types: solid and
engineered wood flooring – which are made from Padauk (Pterocarpus pedatus), Cam
xe (Xylia xylocarpa) and Oak. These wood floorings offer exceptional stability,
distinguished aesthetic and friendliness.

 Roller shutters:

Detolux overhead roller shutter: made from complete spare parts imported

from Germany with foam filled insulated aluminum slat for insulation.
Eurowindow roller shutter: Roller drum with double skin aluminum extruded

profile. Trapezoid perforated slat allows clearance gap adjustment.
 Auto Door: available in two types – auto sliding door and automatic revolving door.
Entire control systems are imported from Europe or Eurowindow’s orders.

In the recent three years, the structure of assets and sources of Eurowindow

Company has changed. Over 3 years, total assets and capital decreased 7.6%. Short-term
and long-term assets decreased significantly. However, liabilities in 2014 decreased to
24.7% versus 2012. From 2012 to 2014, the equity increased 24.5%.
In the Capital structure, equity accounts for only a small proportion (35%) in 2012
but has increased over the years, by 2014 to achieve 47% of total capital. This shows that
the company's debt ratio declined, making business operations of the company not depend
too much on the market’s interest rate as before.
In the Assets structure, short-term and long-term assets have decreased. The main
sources of income of the company rely on large projects as well as orders from domestic
and foreign businesses. The income is used to make payments for facilities, production as

well as staff salaries; maintain operation on a daily basis. Thus, total assets and equity of
the company annually depend on how many projects in that year as well as how effective
the financial allocation for the activities is.

Report of business activities in 2012-2013-2014 shows the variation in business of
the company in recent three years as follows:
Revenue, costs and profits are calculated very carefully by accounting department,
which accurately reflect the business activities of the company. Company’s revenue is
used to offset expenses. Revenues in 2014 reached 1285 billion VND while in 2012 it was
1373 billion VND, decreasing by nearly 88 billion VND (6.4%). The decrease in revenue
was due to complicated fluctuation of domestic market, the frozen situation of real estate

market during this time, which makes the company difficult in developing market,
increasing sales.
The figures above show that profit after income tax in 2013 decreased by 11,488
billion dong, equivalent to 20.7%. The decrease in profit after income tax means that the
business activities of the company in the year 2014 have more difficulties than in 2012.
This amount of profit was not used to distribute to shareholders but to supplement for the
entire equity of the company as well as to replace and repair fixed assets in order to serve
the manufacturing business of company.
In general, economic criteria in 2014 decreased compared to previous years.
Because of rising producing costs and economic crisis, Eurowindow company needs to
find solutions to remains stable business and asserts its position in the market.
2.3. Comments on the strong points and weak points of company’s business

activities
2.3.1. Strong points
In general, the management of revenue, expenses, profit distribution as well as
mobilization and using of company’s capital is fully implemented and updated in time,
which meets the need of administrators. The company always has obligations to the State
budget.
The company has a strong source of finance and facility, with 5 factories, 3
branches, nearly 40 showrooms and a hundred of dealers, distributors over the nation. So
the supply and distribution of products are flexible; goods are not redundant and timely
meet the need of customers. Besides, the factories are equipped with complete cutting
edge production lines imported from Europe such as Germany, Italy, Finland, Spain, etc.
Currently, the company has expanded manufacturing scale, developing market, with
the goal of providing best quality and services, harmonizing benefit for both Eurowindow
and Community as well as contributing to environmental protection, standing as a leader
in field of high-quality plastic window.

The company has nearly 4,000 employees including qualified specialist, engineers,
and high skilled workers, working under skillful and strategic guidance of experienced
leaders, which help to make the business activities of company more efficient and make
company’s position in the market increase.
2.3.2.

Weak points
- Firstly, the large scale of manufacturing makes it difficult for managers in

administrative activities. By integrating and developing, Eurowindow made a pretty
strong brand in the market. Vietnam is considered as a potential and quite large market so
expanding the manufacturing scale and distribution networks helps the company fully
meet the needs of customers. However, the expansion of scale leads to many difficulties
and challenges for the board of directors in managing.
- Secondly, in today’s market economy, a company wanting to have sustainable
development needs to be active in developing its own human resources. However, how to
recruit capable and loyal human resources is still a difficult problem. Increasing in
requirement of work and fierce competition in labor market require the company to
employ the labors who have much experience. However, the company has not had
flexible policies to attract and employ the talents.
- Thirdly, the producing materials are mostly imported, so it depends much on
foreign market. Moreover, the imported materials bearing extra cost which pushes up the
price of Eurowindow’s products, reduces the company’s competitiveness compared with

domestic products.
2.4.

Comments on the use of English in Eurowindow company
Eurowindow JSC mainly does business with foreign partners in Germany, Italy,

Spain, Switzerland, etc. So the use of English is the necessary and compulsory
requirement in the operation of the company; howerver, the usage of English is still not
really effective in this company.

With the feature that all activities in Eurowindow company are associated with
English, most of the staff can use English. This ability in the company ranges from
general to fluency. However, the requirement of English proficiency for the staff who is in
charge of logistics tasks such as manufacturing, cleaning and so on is not compulsory.
In the interviews for some departments such as Sales Department, Importing and
exporting material Department, the candidates are thoroughly tested on English
proficiency, especially in speaking and writing. Most of the employees in these
departments have English certificate from an intermediate or higher; some important
positions as directors, deputy directors are certified TOEIC / IELTS. In addition, the
company also encourages its employees to spend more time studying and practicing their
English skills in the evening at prestigious centers, thereby improving the company’s
quality of customer service and meeting the integration’s demand of the market economy.

CHAPTER 3: SOME PROBLEMS IN COMPANY’S BUSINESS ACTIVITIES
3.1. Opportunities and challenges of the company
3.1.1. Opportunities

The trends of globalization and international economic integration have created a
lot of business opportunities and an “open playground” for enterprises. This is an
advantage to help Eurowindow company open up opportunities for associating with
domestic and foreign enterprises.
With the position of a leader in field of window, Eurowindow has opportunities to
capture the market share, build a good image, expand the manufacturing scale and
developing in other fields.
Vietnam’s economy are on track to develop, which helps to increase the customers’
demand on high-qualified products for construction, creates many chances for companies
specializing in providing high-qualified window such as Eurowindow to increase sales.
On the other hand, international marketing helps businesses have more advantages
to promote and apply on many aspects such as sales marketing, service marketing,
investment marketing, etc. Thank to this, Eurowindow company will accumulate a lot of
experience in organizing and managing company, researching market and planning
strategies, especially the experience in building strategy of international marketing.
3.1.2. Challenges


Along with the opportunities, the company itself and other domestic enterprises
have to face with many challenges.
Competition among the sectors in the era of globalization is rising and getting
tougher and tougher. Competitors have also increased both in quantity and quality. The
global competitiveness is stronger when tools and strategies of competition are more
complicated.

Challenges for market have become fiercer. Rapid increase in production makes the
supply tend to exceed the demand. So demand of the market is getting closer and stricter.
The first requirement is the quality of products. However, in today’s market economy,
only quality is not enough. Beside high quality, customers also require products to have
low costs, reasonable prices, perfect services, accurate delivery time and convenient
distribution channels. If the company cannot meet these requirements, it is easy for them
to lose customers.
The frozen situation of the real estate market as well as unexpected fluctuation of
the economics pose many challenges for Eurowindow in maintaining its position,
increasing sales revenue and stabilizing business activities, helping to bring the company
through the difficult period.
In addition, the price of importing materials is increasing. It puts pressure on
companies which depends on importing material such as Eurowindow. That the

environment is being destroyed seriously also needs to be cared.
3.2. Some problems in the use of English in Eurowindow Company

Although English is a basic requirement of Eurowindow company, the level of
English is not even. Only about one third of the employees in the company can use
English fluently. Most of the employees can communicate with foreign partners using
listening and speaking skills. Nevertheless, reading and writing skills are not the strength
of Eurowindow company, especially the skill of reading specialized projects. Due to the
fact that not many employees in the company are trained in universities or colleges or
foreign language centers, it is difficult for them to understand many specialized projects.
Communicating with foreign partners via business correspondence as well as skills of
writing reports and projects in English of many employees are not good enough. When
signing big contracts with foreign partners, the company still have to rely on the help of
the prestigious interpreting – translating offices to avoid unnecessary mistakes, convey
the most adequate and accurate information to customers, maintain the position and image
of the company in the market.

3.3. Recommendations for solutions
3.3.1. Solutions to management

This problem has existed for a long time and is not easy to solve. However,
Eurowindow company can seek solutions to make the smooth operation, ensure the

production efficiency and avoid overlapping and gaps in the management.
3.3.2. Solutions to human resources

In order to attract and recruit the competent workforce, besides ensuring the
salaries, bonuses and preferential treatments, Eurowindow company firstly needs to
promote and maximize all the advantages to persuade the talents and prove that the
company is the “fertile and potential ground” for them to challenge, create and experience
so as to affirm their competence.
In addition, it is necessary for the company to create a better working environment,
understand and share the desires as well as difficulties of the employees. Eurowindow
company also needs to arrange some courses to enhance the solidarity among employees
and make timely decisions to avoid the risk of leaving the company of employees,
especially the important positions.
3.3.3. Solutions to material problem

The increasing price of importing materials requires the company to negotiate,
search for new suppliers in order to purchase good materials with reasonable price, ensure
the output quality as well as the product’s competitiveness in the domestic market.

3.3.4. Solutions to the use of English in the company

About the problem that the English levels in the company are uneven and some
English skills of the employees are limited, Eurowindow company can allow the
employees to participate in some short-term and long-term courses of specialized skills,
especially writing skill because this skill requires the high orthodoxy and profession. For
some logistics staff who are not fluent in English, the company can hold some English
courses of basic communication for them.
The content of courses should focus on communication patterns, common terms
and actual activities to practice English. Teachers maybe the employees of the company
who have been trained or use English fluently. By this way, the company can not only
save a large amount of cost but also enhance the solidarity and cohesion among people in
company.
In addition, the diversity of using English can be improved over time by exposing
to many forms of English in use. The departments in company can sum up some
documents of specialized words and different ways of using English to help the next
generation overcome this barrier more easily.

CONCLUSION
Ater more than 10 years operating in the market, Eurowindow Joint Stock
Company has achieved many considerable accomplishments, contributing substantially to
the development of society and getting a firm position in Vietnam. However, there still
exist some problems that need to be improved in order to operate more effectively.

During the period of 4-week internship, I had a chance to apply my knowledge to
reality as well as got more experience to finish my report. I sincerely thank my supervisor
Ms. Vu Thi Thu Trang and Eurowindow JSC for helping me a lot with my internship to
