What is the first quality for true friendship and what
does it tell you?
Why are the changeable and uncertain people in
incapable of true friendship?
What is the third quality for true friendship and what
does it tell you?
Why must there be a mutual trust between friends?
Why can’t people who talk too much keep a friend
long?
What is the last quality for true friendship and what
does it tell you?

1. The first quality for true friendship is unselfishness. It tells us that a man
who is concerned only with their own interests and feelings can not be a

true friend.
2. Changeable and uncertain people are incapable of true friendship because
they take up an interest with enthusiasm, but they are soon tired of it, and
they feel the attraction of some new objects.
3. The third quality for true friendship is loyal to each other , and they must
know each other so well that there can be suspicious between them
4. There must be a mutual trust between friends because if not, people can
not feel safe when telling the other his or her secrets
5. Talkative people can’t keep a friend long because they can not keep a
secret of their own or of their friends’.
6. The last quality for true friendship is sympathy. It tells us that to be friend
you must sympathize with your friends. Where there is no mutual sympathy
between friends there is not true friendship.

Work in groups of five to discuss about
how to find a good friend for yourselves.
The following questions may help you?
- Why do you need to have a close
friend?
“A friend in need is a friend indeed” what
do you think about this proverb?
- What quality of friendship is the most
important to you? Why?

Learn by heart vocabulary.
 Read the passage page13 again
to understand more about

friendship.
 Prepare for speaking lesson.
