I. Objectives :
1. Educational aims : Ss should be careful when they do a first aid course for a wound.
ask them to remember that “ Health is above wealth”
2. Teaching aims : By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to solve some situation/
emergencies by giving a first aid.
II. Language contents :
- Grammar : The simple future tense
- Phrases of purpose: to- inf. So as to – inf, in order to – inf.

Period 55 Lesson 1: - Getting started
- Listen and read
1.
Objectives:
Educational aim: By the end the lesson, Ss can know what they would do in the situations
which require first – aid.
- Teaching aims: Reading for details about the situations which require first - aid

1.Warm up : 5’ Kim’s game :
- Ask Ss to open their books and look at the things on p.
80 (for 20”). Tell them these things are often used for

first – aid.
- Divide the class into two groups.
- Ask Ss to close their books and go to the board to write the
names of the things they’ve just seen from memory.
(English or Vietnamese)
- Tell them the group having the most right English words is
the winner.
-Have Ss open the books again and go through the words in
English.

- Ask Ss to discuss and write down what they would do in
these situations which require first – aid.

Act 1: Pre teach vocabulary:
+ Set the context (use the picture) There is an emergency at
Lan’s school. Lan is calling to Bach Mai hospital to ask the
nurse to send an ambulance

Act 2: Gap fill prediction:
- Hand the chart with the paragraph on the board:
“ There was an emergency at Lan’s school. A

Lan telephoned Bach Mai Hospital and asked the

something around them.
-Improve reading skills.

2. Pre-reading :
-Give handouts and have students work in group of
four to match the titles with correct paragraphs.

-Introduce the meaning of some new words or some
words that the students cannot understand.

-Have students give feedback
- Let them tell the reason why they do that.
-Give some explanations if possible.

3. While-reading:
Act 1:
-Have students read the material then find the
correct answers for each questions
