1. The Past Simple:
*Use : Express the past events , often go along with :
yesterday, last.., ..ago,...
* Form: S + Ved......
S + didn t + V....
Eg: Positive: Chi phoned me yesterday
I bought a new laptop 2 days ago.
Negative: Chi didn t phone me yesterday.
I didn t buy a new laptop 2 days ago.
Question: Did Chi phone you yesterday?
Did you buy a new laptop 2 days ago?
2. The Past simple with wish
The Past simple is used to make a wish about the
present.
I wish my husband didn t smoke so much
I wish I lived in a big city. It is boring in the country.

I wish I were taller.
3. The Present Perfect.
*Use: Express the recent actions or events when no fixed
time is given; actions which have a result in the present
or not yet finished
*. Form: S + have / has + P2 .....
*. Used with: - aready
- just, recently, lately
- for, since.
- yet, so far, ever.
Eg: Positive: My brother has prepared the chair
I have dropped my calculator
Negative: We haven t had a party for ages
It hasn t rained today
