The role of parents in the family is extremely important. This role changes over
time.
Two to three centuries ago, fathers’ roles were primarily to serve as breadwinners.
The father was the head of the family. Whereas the role of the mother in family is
the stay-at-home, who is not actively pursuing a career, but instead of devoting all
her time to taking care of these children and settling all the house chores. But in
the Modern world which we now live in, the roles of parents in households now
have changed radically.
Now the father is not only the person who makes the money but also takes care of
these children, making the final decisions that affect the family. He helps the
mother manage the household and responsible for the hard stuff like lifting heavy
things and repair work. Sometimes he cooks, does the shopping. In the world
which we now live in, the fathers do household which is so ordinary.
The role of the woman has changed, to sharing the burden of providing for the
family with her husband. She helps to earn a living and make decisions affecting
the family. Especially, the mothers can both pursue her favorite job and take care
of these children and supervises household tasks.
Overall, both parents are sharing the workload, supporting the family
economically, as well as taking turns with the household chores and looking after
the children. And in the future, probably even though may even be a social
reversal of roles.
