INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, Information Technology (IT) plays an important role in the
development of the enterprise. Apply, exploit efficiency of IT in production and
business activities is the core conditions for business in order to success in fiercer and

more competitive environment with every passing day. IT applications help managers
to access information faster, more reliable,as a result, forecasting ability is more
accurate, the adaption ability is quicker ,thence, management is more efficient . IT
applications help businesses reduce costs, increase profits and increase labor
productivity.
Though the role and importance of IT , not that any enterprise is successful in IT
applications. To apply IT relly effectively, enterprises need to build IT strategic
applications inherent in the development strategy of the enterprise. Like a marathon,
if the athlete does not anticipate his/her race-track and devoted all power to run the
first Km ,he/she will not be unabale to lift the legs in subsequent kilometers ,even
remove race.
Subject: IT applications to improve business efficiency and management in the
five-year period from 2012 to 2016 and vision to 2020 of Vietnam Mobile Telecom
Service Company (VMS Mobifone) include the following main contents:

Chapter I. ABOUT VMS
1. About company
Viet Nam Mobile Telecom Service Company (VMS) is a State Enterprise that
under the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). Established on 16
April, 1993, VMS becomes the first enterprise exploiting GMS 900/1800 mobile
information service with Mobifone brand, that marks the beginning of the mobile
communications sector in Vietnam . According to production and Business
perspective, the product of MobiFone is that

organize

network design and

construction , deploy to provide new mobile information services having advanced
technology,business GSM 900/1800, 3G UMTS technology mobile communication
services nationwide.

Currently, mobile telecom services company(VMS) has 14 fuctional divisions,
boards and 8 directly under units ,including 6 mobile telecom services center in 5
regions, Value Added Services center(VAS), billing and liquidity center, the design
factory.

headquartered in Hanoi, is responsible for the management, operation, exploitation

3. Achievements
MobiFone is the first and only mobile telecom network provider in Vietnam. Most

recently, in the afternoon of 7th December,2011 MobiFone won sixth "The most
popular and liked network ", with the highest votes ratio from readers up to 47%, in
framework of an annual award for ICT products organized by World technology
magazine Similarly, in the award organized by Vietnam Net and eChip Mobile
,MobiFone also 6 times getting award for the lead position about preferred network
and customer care.

Chapter II. ANALYSIS OF SITUATION AND APPLICATION OF
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN THE COMPANY
1. Equipment installation Infrastructure
Currently,machine rooms installed devices

is located on building of mobile

telecom services.Because of being constructed according to office bulding
standard,these do not demand infrastructure requirements for machine room. Servers,
network devices are not installed centralizedly in one location. Machine rooms do not
apply the management and administration technology based on dedicated software for
the server room.
2. Computing network infrastructure status
Informatics network of company serves connections from the Company to the
Node network across the country, from the computering network Node at the Center
to the switchboard, BSC, MSC, branches,

Mobifone stores, Mobifone agents,

customer Service Center, the content provider.
WAN network connection of the Company is a circular ring connection between

the Center and the Office of the Company .
Currently, there are 2 IP network running parallel to each other, including:

After 19 years of development and growth, the field of IT application
in business at VMS has contributed significantly to the completion of
the Company's business plan, list of applications deployed and applied

The above applied systems meet current business needs. However,
a

few

applications

developed

by

the

company

concentrated


nature,the majority of applications are small discrete applications and
developed by domestic suppliers. General characteristics of the system
such as:

CONCULUSION
VMS is the first business exploiting and serving mobile telecom services. For
19 years, Mobifone has reaped many successful, always prouded of best sales and


profit mobile network .To get such results, from the early days,VMS-Mobifone has
always considered the role of IT during the development stage of the company: IT
always take the key and is the foundation to build a strong network across the
country; developing added value services based on IT such as customer care system;;
building distribution channels, resellers, retailers from North to south through

commercial applications; applying IT tomanagement and administration of the whole
company .The most important is that annual profit of the Company increases steadily
due to cost reduction, revenue increase.
To get more successes and fulfill the objectives , strategies of VMS during
2012-2016 period and vision to 2020, the role of IT need to have a specific strategy.
The preparation of infrastructure,investing and upgrading equipment; deploying ICT
system and e-commerce systems; security system; optimizing; training human
