international standards for the Gifted-High School Teachers.

1. Objectives
- To survey professional skills of the gifted-hight school teachers for comparison with the
international standards;
- To develop a process to develop professional skills for gifted-high school teachers
approaching the international standards.
- To apply the developed process in training for teachers in four cities.
2. Main contents
- Surveying professional skills of the gifted-high school teachers in performing the steps
of the teaching process according to the international standard (in the 6 subjects:
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History) in the 10 key schools.
- Organizing some conferences, seminars on international teachers, teachers in the 21st
century;
- Designing the process of professional skills development based on the international
standards.
- A proposal to the Ministry of Education and Training about the teacher training
programs to gain the international standards and its implementation schedule in Vietnam.

- Training 20 teachers, trainers for the University of Education.
- Training for 120 teachers and core staffs in Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh


City.
3. Obtained results
- A report on survey data;
- A proposed report on the process of professional skills development for the teachers
based on the international standards.
- Six sets of training manuals in teaching, examination and assessment for high school
teachers in the six subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature,
History);
- A set of training manuals for teachers and trainers;
- 4 training courses for core high school teachers: 120 teachers in Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang
and Ho Chi Minh City;
- Two scientific conferences, seminars on the subjects international teachers, teachers in
the 21st century and the process of professional skills development for the high school
teachers.
- The recommendations on teacher training processes based on the international standards
and its implementation schedule in Vietnam.
