Nowadays, "Knowledge Management" has become increasingly important in the
modern business environment. This study aims to give the detailed understanding of this
issue, to describe and explain the knowledge creating process in joint venture companies
in Viet Nam. The research based on Nonaka’s knowledge management theory
framework. Especially, the two most important models used to analyze are SECI model the process of knowledge creation through the conversion between Implicit and Explicit
knowledge and Model of dynamic knowledge creation which describes

the factors

affecting the company’s knowledge management process. We also analyzed the case of
Dragon Logistics Co., Ltd in order to provide a practical aspect of the above processes.
The research’s result shows that knowledge management has been initially formed,
however, there is still a shortage of the full and systematic awareness of this problem. As
can be seen from this research, the environment of knowledge creation in the joint
venture company is much more complicated than other kinds of companies, that is
reflected by the diversity of Ba, the interaction mechanisms in Ba and the knowledge
ecosystem. The study also shows the ways for firms to change and develop themselves
basing on the power of knowledge and knowledge management. According to these
findings, we suggest some recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of knowledge
management in the joint-venture companies in Vietnam. Besides, the research also points
out its limitations and suggested further research topics.
