factors leading to successful leadership in an
organization
“ The success or failure of any company will be measured and determined by a
few key successful factors”
The decisive success factors in business can be compared to vital functions for
the existence of the body, for example, heart-breaking rate, breathing rate, blood
pressure, ECG .... These functions are the signs and overall health measure and the
existence of a human being. Lack of any function, even in just a second, can cause
danger. Also, there are key success factors to measure the prosperity and existence
of companies. Many of them are quite familiar and popular but some are so specific
and particular that other organizations do not have.
The most important success factor in business is the role of leadership,
product quality, service, sales, marketing, manufacture, distribution, accounting and
financing skills and knowledge. If every element is carried out synchronously, the
new company may reap the best results. Inefficient performance or failure in
implementing any factors may threaten the survival of the company
In such small scale of the assignment, we will only discuss how crucial is the
role of leaders to the success of an organization. In other words, what factors lead
to successful leadership in an organization?
A good manager also needs to have other qualifications. He or she must be
visionary and able to connect that vision with ideas. Also, he or she must be an
innovator who likes changes. He or she dares to dream and to be different. They are
willing to accept defeat.
Management is the process of working with and through individuals, groups
and other resources. Management is challenged and assessed by the achievement of
goals through the organization and implementation of various skills. Firstly, the
manager must have certain knowledge of law system, corporate laws, marketing,
corporate finance, production lines, technology, etc. This is a prerequisite because it
is associated with the efficiency of decision-making process. To become a talent



manager, you need to have the required qualifications and skills. So a leader must
know what qualifications and skills needed for him or her to build up and promote
them effectively. The qualifications and skills directly affect the image of a good
leadership and the foundation of a successful company.
1. Necessary skills of a successful leader.
Leadership skills: This is an indispensable skill of a manager. A good leader
is challenged by changing the systems and people. The term "leadership" is being
used more and more as mentioning the role of managers since the function of
leaders is treatments to changes. In this case, it requires a good manager to change
the products, systems and people dynamically. A good leader is to promote the
process of decision making and offer opportunities to his or her employees to
decide that issue. If you are a good leader, the power will come to you, but you also
have to exploit potential power and capacity of others. You have to push decisionmaking process and it is a difficult problem.
Planning skills: The manager is the decision maker and the entire apparatus
of the company will follow that decision. It means that the decision of managers
impacts significantly to the destiny of a company. A bad plan may lead to
unexpected consequences. Therefore, planning skills are important to ensure a
manager can make reasonable plans and direct all employees toward the objectives
of the given plan. When the plan is completed, the manager must convey
information on the plan to his or her junior and senior officers for consultation.
During the implementation of the plan, the manager needs these tools to solve
problems and, where necessary, issue and enforce the decisions in their powers
Problem solving skills: problem-solving process can be conducted through
the following steps: identification of problems, causes of the problem, classification
of problems, solutions and selection of the optimal solution. A good manager will
conduct this process skillfully and effectively
Good communication skills: people more and more realize the power of
relationships, which can be taken by good communication skills. You must be
proficient in both spoken and writing communication. You must know how to

impress by the voice, body language, eyes and your expressions must be
understandable, and persuasive. Current agreements mostly depend on negotiation


capacity. Good communication ability is effective to personnel management. An
expert on personnel issues has concluded that it is possible to buy time by money
but creativity or passion in job which depends on the ability of motivation to
employees to assert their loyalty and commitment of employees cannot be paid
with high salary. In fact, higher wages and a fully equipped office are only
necessary but insufficient conditions to keep a good employee.
Effective Empowering skills: The leader must discover talents - who can
supplement your disadvantages shall be assigned and grant power to them properly
instead of praise. Besides, the leader should issue special remuneration policies to
talents who dare to set up extremely challenging goals and to find ways to settle
them.
Inspirational skills: Knowing how to inspire others and you will get what
you are expecting when you pay more attention to them. To become a good leader,
you need to know your staff, listen and share with subordinates instead of
commanding and shouting them. When there are problems, it is obligatory to go
into the circumstances to resolve the situation rationally.
2. Necessary qualifications of a successful leader:
To become a leader, it is necessary to undergo a long training period with
required qualifications and experience learning from their predecessors. However,
many of us often overlook that and keep the concept that they were born to make
the leader. A true leader must have serious and dignified, confident, and persuasive,
etc. The big question here is to how you met those requirements?
Visionary ability
The leader’s role is more important than an individual’s. He seems to know
how good planning in all work and provide the most helpful advice for his
colleagues or his subordinates

Apart from the visionary ability, he must know how to communicate his ideas
to other people to understand and implement those ideas with him. These
transmitted messages must always be vividly, clear and highly convincing.
Therefore, verbally fluent communication is always the required qualification of a
good leader.


While everyone is convinced by the talents of the leader, they often do not
realize that the talent just supplements to the experience that he can acquire from
practical work: the planning ability and setting goals to be achieved. He always
finds out the solution to solve all difficulties, even in the most problematic
situations because he can see the nature of the work clearly before you just start to
think about it.
Confidence
A true leader must always trust in himself. Generally, the confidence is formed
from the fact that any leader has ever experienced after any long-term training in
job skills, accumulation of deep knowledge with his potential intelligence. Besides,
even without the skills, experience, he is also aware and learning them from others.
Consistency
A leader should be consistent in his decisions. However, this does not include
conservative people, or those are too stubborn or unable to fix mistakes. Moreover,
he must be inclined to reason in internal dispute settlement.
Acceptance of adventure.
Many people do not dare to take risks because they are afraid to take defeat.
However, if you are an ambitious leader, you need to ask yourself whether the risk
is worth or not?
If you feel your daring is worth, you need to overcome the psychological fear,
and courage yourself to cope with challenges. If the challenge is too difficult, take
time to make plan for "combating" against them. More good preparation is, more
mitigated the level of risk in your situation is.

Patience
The leader never surrenders to difficulties if he or she has not actually coped
with them. Everything is not always easy for you because you are the leader so you
need to experience as many things as you can until you are successful.
High determination
As the leader, he or she is expected to make important decisions while others
try to avoid it. These decisions will sometimes make a big impact affecting the
relationship between the leader and his or her surrounding people, he or she also
has to accept that.


Complaisance and tolerance in the decision-making can lead to mistakes to
create a bad precedent leading to the loss of the "prestige" in the position of a
leader. Sometimes a leader needs to be a bit callous to dismiss an employee because
his actions harm to the Company’s interests.
Willing sacrifice
Is a leader willing to sacrifice his or her private interest to secure his work to
go well? As a head of a group, the leader must spend so much time and effort to
better manage his staff and his work. Even it takes time that it should have been
spent to personal issues for himself and his family.
Adaptability
Business methods can be effective today but it is different tomorrow. A
talented leader should be aware of that and to know to adapt and accept changes.
He has to update skills, technologies and new methods to promote the development
in his work
To become a talented leader is not easy at all. It requires the love in his work
with the energy and constant efforts to gain all qualifications required to a leader.
Ask yourself why others need to listen, respect and comply with your instructions
and guide. Surely, you shall find the motivation to fulfill the role of a leader
3. Required qualification of a leader

As summarized by many international experts, some great leaders must have
the following qualifications.
+ Passion. An effective leader must always desire to do something to
contribute to the society, or at least to himself. A leader, without passion, can not
get the daring decisions and enthusiasm.
+ Wise knowledge and inquiring mind. It is obvious that a leader can not
operate well if they do not know anything about their field of activity. In addition to
basic knowledge in the field of their activities, the leader must also read a lot and
have the inquiring mind to improve knowledge, awareness and update of new
information and knowledge.
+ Visionary ability. The qualification is different from passion, but in certain
aspects, it is not separate from passion. If a person is not interested in a subject, a
problem, a certain system, then that person will not take the time to find out the


solution. However, a leader, in addition to passion, must have a visionary ability,
perspectives and ideas to changes to define the appropriate measures.
+ Creativity. The leader always has to think how to make strategies to
implement the vision in the most efficient way. Creativity is so important to
implement any job fastest, most effectively with the highest quality.
+ Information conveying ability. The leader must be able to speech and
communicate to persuade others to believe, listen to and follow.
+ Organization and planning ability. A leader is someone who can see what
to do and enable to make plan and organize the implementation to a group.
+ Ability to work in groups. The leader should be able to work with others,
listen, be honest, open, and aware of scientific and proper arrangement of works for
employees in a scientific and rational, and know how to solve internal conflicts.
+ Resourceful ability. A leader needs to have great mind so that he or she
never gets discouraged in difficulties. When the task seems too difficult, he or she
will find another approach. He or she always is always looking for the solutions to

any problem, from which to choose the optimal way.
+ Courage. The leader must take the toughest jobs. CEO must always clearly
define that who he or she represents for and what to do. It requires his or her
courage and determination in matters related to the survival and development of
enterprises, such as the appointment, dismissal, etc.
+ Willingness to take risks. The great leader never evades in difficult reality.
He or she may anticipate the worst scenario that could happen to the company. In
this case, her ore she needs a supporting plan.
4. Leadership capacity is decisive elements deciding success of one
organization:
Above is the analysis of the skills, qualifications of a successful leader.
However, all of them are the foundation of management capacity of the leader. No
one can denies that leadership capacity is a key factor leading to productivity and
profitability of the organization, in other words, there is close relationship between
effective leadership with enthusiasm of the staff, customers’ loyalty and strength of
the organization

Employees want a fair working environment, compliance with laws in the
organization and the relationships with directors and other employees. In fact, the
staffs often have unfair and irregular acts and they do not feel safe in working
environment. It directly affects the level of enthusiasm and attitude to customers. In
contrast, the staff is aware of the company's support, they will devote more in their

work.

enthusiasm of the staff because they directly contribute to help individuals
complete their work, serve customers and creating quality products.

Operational management, administration activities as well as information sharing,

quality of service. Measurement of these factors is information: The information
from customers and employees (such as how to improve the service), use of this


information for training and sharing among staffs and based on evaluation and
reward. The research findings support management work and have a positive
impact on services toward customers. The result of these relationships is an
important combination of information searching, training and incentives to create

intimate relationships with customers. The study achievements support the

Thus, establishment of an effective and successful organization is a problem
that should be solved from the inside. The quality of culture, implementation of
management work and arrangement of the elements in the company's strategy are
fulcrum for a leader. A leader is responsible for and secures effectiveness and
behaviors of employees and he can influence significantly to the results of his or
her organization. The leadership capacity impacts awareness, attitudes, views and
binding to staffs and corporate culture is found in a sequence of linked events. This
is a survival factor for an organization in which leadership capacity creates an
environment that allows employees to work with passion and do their job
efficiently with customers’ loyalty as well as promotes the strength of the
organization.
