And: is used to join nouns, similar ideas.

= OPPOSITE, DIFFERENCE

= RESULT of something
Ex: Today is your friend birthday, so I buy her a
present.
SO
= the CAUSE of something.
Ex: I eat a lot of pizza because I like it.
I study English because I want a good job.
BECAUSE
