Thì quá khứ đơn (Past simple) dùng để diễn tả hành động sự vật xác định trong quá khứ hoặc vừa mới
kết thúc.

Phủ định

Phủ định: S + was/were not + V1
Đối với câu phủ định ta chỉ cần thêm
“not” vào sau động từ “to be”.
CHÚ Ý:
– was not = wasn’t
– were not = weren’t
Ví dụ:
– She wasn’t very happy last night
because of having lost money. (Tối
qua cô ấy không vui vì mất tiền)
-We weren’t at home yesterday. (Hôm
qua chúng tôi không ở nhà.)

Phủ định: S + did not + V1
Trong thì quá khứ đơn câu phủ địnhta
mượn trợ động từ “did + not” (viết tắt là
“didn’t), động từ theo sau ở dạng
nguyên thể.)
Ví dụ:
– He didn’t come to school last week.
(Tuần trước cậu ta không đến trường.)
– We didn’t see him at the cinema last
night. (Chúng tôi không trông thấy anh
ta tại rạp chiếu phim tối hôm qua.)

Nghi vấn

Câu hỏi: Was/Were+ S + V1 ?

Trả lời: Yes, I/ he/ she/ it + was.
– No, I/ he/ she/ it + wasn’t
Yes, we/ you/ they + were.
– No, we/ you/ they + weren’t.
Câu hỏi ta chỉ cần đảo động từ “to be”
lên trước chủ ngữ.
Ví dụ:
– Was she tired of hearing her
customer’s complaint yesterday? (Cô

Câu hỏi: Did + S + V1 ?
Trong thì quá khứ đơn với câu hỏi ta
mượn trợ động từ “did” đảo lên trước
chủ ngữ, động từ theo sau ở dạng
nguyên thể.
Ví dụ:
– Did you visit Ho Chi Minh Museum
with your class last weekend? (Bạn có đi
thăm bảo tàng Hồ Chí Minh với lớp của
bạn cuối tuần trước hay không?)

Định nghĩa thì hiện tại đơn
Thì hiện tại đơn (tiếng Anh: Simple present hoặc Present simple) là một thì trong tiếng Anh hiện đại. Thì này
diễn tả một hành động chung chung, tổng quát lặp đi lặp lại nhiều lần hoặc một sự thật hiển nhiên hoặc một
hành động diễn ra trong thời gian hiện tại.

Sự việc xảy ra trong tương lai. Cách này thường áp
dụng để nói về thời gian biểu, chương trình hoặc kế
hoạch đã được cố định theo thời gian biểu.

The plane takes off at 3 p.m. this afternoon. (Chiếc
máy bay hạ cánh lúc 3 giờ chiều nay)
The train leaves at 8 am tomorrow. (Tàu khởi hành

Cách phát âm phụ âm cuối s/es: Chú ý các phát âm phụ âm cuối này phải dựa vào
phiên âm quốc tế chứ không dựa vào cách viết.
– /s/:Khi từ có tận cùng là các phụ âm /f/, /t/, /k/, /p/ , /ð/
– /iz/:Khi từ có tận cùng là các âm /s/, /z/, /∫/, /t∫/, /ʒ/, /dʒ/ (thường có tận cùng là các chữ
cái ce, x, z, sh, ch, s, ge)
– /z/:Khi từ có tận cùng là nguyên âm và các phụ âm còn lại

Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại đơn :


Always (luôn luôn) , usually (thường xuyên), often (thường xuyên), frequently (thường xuyên) ,
sometimes (thỉnh thoảng), seldom (hiếm khi), rarely (hiếm khi), hardly (hiếm khi) , never (không
bao giờ), generally (nhìn chung), regularly (thường xuyên).



Once/ twice/ three times/ four times….. a day/ week/ month/ year,……. (một lần / hai lần/ ba lần/

Trạng từ chỉ tần suất (Adverb of frequency) là một trong những dạng của trạng từ trong tiếng Anh. Trạng
từ chỉ tần suất(Adverb of frequency) diễn tả mức độ thường xuyên của một hành động.

ĐỊNH NGHĨA


Trạng từ chỉ tần suất diễn tả mức độ thường xuyên của một hành động (thường thường, luôn luôn, ít
khi…).

ex:
– John is always on time. (John luôn đúng giờ.)
– He seldom works hard. (Anh ấy ít khi làm việc chăm chỉ.)


Trạng từ chỉ tần suất được dùng để trả lời câu hỏi với: “How often?” (Có…thường?).


– We sometimes go to the beach. (Thỉnh thoảng chúng tôi đi biển.)
– We hardly ever see you at home. (Hầu như không khi nào chúng tôi thấy anh ở nhà.)


ex: I always drink a lot of water. (Tôi luôn luôn uống nhiều nước.)
– usually /’ju: u li/ thường thường, thường lệ

– nomally /’nɔ:məli/ ~ generally /’dʤenərəli/ thông thường, như thường lệ
ex: I normally swim after work. (Tôi thường đi bơi sau khi làm việc.)
– often/’ɔ:fn/ ~ frequently /’fri:kwəntly/ thường thường, luôn
ex: I often go out for dinner. (Tôi thường ăn tối ở ngoài.)
– sometimes /’sʌmtaimz/ đôi khi, đôi lúc
ex: I sometimes play tennis on the weekend. (Đôi khi tôi chơi tennis vào dịp cuối tuần.)
– occasionally /ə’keiʤnəli/ thỉnh thoảng
ex: I occasionally eat Japan food. (Tôi thỉnh thoảng ăn đồ ăn Nhật.)
– hardly ever: hầu như không bao giờ
ex: I hardly ever eat Korean food. (Tôi hầu như không ăn đồ ăn Hàn.)

ex: I rarely go sailing. (Tôi hiếm khi đi thuyền.)
– never /’nevə/ không bao giờ

VỊ TRÍ CỦA TRẠNG TỪ CHỈ TẦN SUẤT


Bình thường, trạng từ chỉ tần suất thường xuất hiện ở 3 vị trí: trước động từ thường, sau trợ động
từ, và sau động từ “to-be”.

– Đứng sau động từ “to be”:
Your hands are still dirty. (Tay anh vẫn còn bẩn.)
He is always modest about his achievements. (Anh ta luôn khiêm tốn về những thành tựu của mình).


– Trước động thường:
I continually have to remind him of his family. (Tôi phải liên tục nhắc hắn nhớ đến gia đình hắn.)
He sometimes writes to me. (Thỉnh thoảng anh ta có viết thư cho tôi.)
My father never eats meat. (Cha tôi chẳng bao giờ ăn thịt.)
– Sau trợ động từ:
I have never been abroad. (Tôi chưa bao giờ ra nước ngoài.)
You should always check your oil before starting. (Bạn nên luôn luôn kiểm tra dầu nhớt trước khi khởi
hành.)
We have often been there. (Chúng tôi đã từng đến đó luôn.)
Các trạng từ chỉ tần suất (trừ always, hardly, ever và never) còn có thể xuất hiện ở đầu câu và cuối



câu. Vị trí đứng đầu câu được dùng với mục đích nhấn mạnh.

(Thầy giáo thường ra bài tập cho chúng tôi.)
Khi câu có trợ động từ, trạng từ chỉ tần suất thường đi sau động từ trừ trường hợp cần nhấn mạnh và câu
trả lời ngắn.
– He can never understand. (Anh ta không thể nào hiểu được.)

Nhưng: He never can understand. [nhấn mạnh]
– Can you park your car near the market? (Anh có thể đỗ xe gần chợ không?)
