InstallationofJDSisexplainedatlengthinAppendixF.Sun

YoucantryoutallthefeaturesofJDS,withoutactually
installingitonyoursystem.Ademoversionisprovidedonthe
JDSDemonstrationCD,includedwiththisbook.Simplyinsert
theCDintoyourCD-ROMdrive,poweroff(shutdown)your
computer,andrestartit.
MakesureyoucanbootfromtheCD-ROMdriveifyouwishtoinstall
JDSfromeitherthefullinstallationpackageorthedemonstrationCD.
SeeAppendixFifyouhavetrouble.
TheJDSDemonstrationCDtakesaboutthreeminutestostart
uponasystemwithan800MHzprocessor.Whenyouare
runningJDSfromtheCD,youcannotsavedocumentsor
settings,ordoanythingelsethataffectsyourharddisk.
However,youcantryoutalltheapplicationsandconfiguration
tools.IfyourebootwiththeCD,allyoursettingswillrevertto
whatyoustartedwith.Whenyourebootyourcomputerwithout
theCD,youwillbebackinyouroldoperatingsystemasif
nothinghappened.
