Unit 8: OUT AND ABOUT.
Period 47: ROAD SIGNS.(C1,C2).
I/ Objectives:
After finishing the lesson , Students will be able to identify road signs, say what they
can or can’t do.
II/ Language contents:
1. Vocabulary: road sign (n), policeman(n), difficult(n), job(n),can/can’t(modal v),
park(v), turn left(v),turn right(v), go ahead(v).
2. Grammar: You can park here.
You can’t go into that street.
III/ Techniques: Communicative approach
- All 4 skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
IV/ Teaching aids : Pictures , test book, coloured chalks, cassette tape,road signs.
V/ Procedures:
1. Classroom Procedures :(2’)
+ Greeting
+ Checking attendance
2. Checking the previous lesson: (5’)
* Ss look at the pictures and complete the sentences with present progressive tense.

*Warm up: (5’).
-Teacher uses “bike”, “car” from
sentences a,b in checking the old
lesson part.
-> Networks game.
- Teacher divides the class into two
teams and asks Ss to write means of
transport. The team which write
more means of transport will win the
game.

I. Listen and repeat:
1. Vocabulary:
- road sign (n): biển báo giao thông.
- policeman(n): cảnh sát giao thông.
- job(n) : nghề nghiệp.
- difficult( adj) : khó nhọc.
- can : được phép.
- can not = can’t : không động từ khiếm khuyết
được phép
- turn left (v): rẽ trái.
- turn right(v): rẽ phải.
- go ahead(v) :đi thẳng.

-T:helps Ss find out some new
words by pictures or translation.
+ Ss observe the picture and answer
the questions: + What are they ?-
>Road signs.
+Who is he?-> he is a policeman.
+ Is his job difficult?-> Yes, it is.
+ What is he saying with this man ?
-> You can park here.
-> You cant go into that street.
-(Some roads signs: turn left, turn
right, go ahead).
- Ss listen and repeat new words.
- Some Ss read individually.
- Teacher and other students correct.
2. Practice:(12)
- Students listen to the tape.
- Students listen and repeat.
- Students read individually.
- Teacher explains the
