San Fernando's New Arrivals
By Annie Liebermann
This week's entry in the "San Fernando's New Arrivals" series is Swiftmore, which is an innovative startup. This digital-based entertainment company was founded six months ago by two friends, Tom
Brickman and Jason Inoue, who came up with the great business model while studying at San Fernando
University. In a short time, the duo has experienced massive success, and their company has already
expanded its services to several sites in North America.
The company specializes in providing digital content such as software, movies, and TV programs. What
sets them apart from competitors is their extensive array of services, including help with installations.
Marketing Director Hester Williams explains, "Most people realize the obvious advantages of using
inexpensive software but are prone to be discouraged easily because they lack the computer skills or
technical know-how to handle it."
In its efforts to increase specialization, the company also gathers customers' recent activity, and uses it to
recommend new movies or music. "Many of our customers are satisfied with the personalized service
that we aim to supply." said Ms. Williams.
Business analyst Travis Palmer believes Swiftmore's business model makes it ideally suited to expand into
other business areas. "There's definitely room for growth, and I predict that Swiftmore will eventually
start integrating various parts of the supply chain into their existing business model." For now, the
company is focusing on horizontal growth, and it plans to include video games in its line of products
sometime in the near future.

Subject: For your attention
Dear Amelia,
It has come to my attention that the print ad that ran in Home with Us magazine, as well as in the Akron
Tribune and the Olympia Times newspapers, listed the wrong price for Naika's B-540 blender. This could
cause a lot of confusion among our customers, so we need to resolve the issue by February 10 at the
latest, since Home with Us requires at least two weeks' notice on any modifications to companies'
monthly ads.
Please speak to the person who designed the ad to find out what happened and to make any necessary
corrections. In light of this, you should review the rest of the ads we have running to make sure this
didn't happen anywhere else.

Dear Neal,

First of all, I spoke to Reese Engler as you requested, and he said there was confusion about the item's
cost due to an outdated pricing list that he was given. The issue has been resolved now, and the
corrected ad is ready to send to Home with Us. I've checked the ads for our other products, and
everything is correct.
In addition, I've reviewed the feedback from our customer panel, and it seems that adjustments are
needed for the F-220 toaster oven. Our aim was to use the compact size as a selling point, but it seems
that customers think there just isn't enough room inside for the preparation of standard meals.
Therefore, we should address this issue and redesign the device based on these comments.
Finally, do you need any help with the unveiling of the P-36 smart fridge next month? If I can be of
assistance in any way, please let me know.
Amelia
