INDIVIDUAL EVALUATION
Name of the university: UNIVERSITY OF GREENWICH VIETNAM
Name and code of the subject: U33 APPLIED PRACTICE
COLLABORATIVE PROJECT
Title of the report: THE PRESSURE OF LEARNING FROM YOUR OWN
FAMILY
Name of students: Lam Thi Tu Uyen
Date of submission: August 31, 2019
The project’s mission is 4 poster and 1 brochure about the topic “The pressure
of learning from your own family”. Focus on showing the audience the most
understandable and receptive message, with illustrations and a short message of
each member based on previous surveys, depending on the type of message
(negative or positive).
TASK:
First of all, we all have to search all the information on online newspapers,
blogs, ... about the pressure of studying to know about the dangers of this.
My task is design a poster that brings a positive message to convey to the
viewers and a brochure that contains most of the information about learning
pressure from family. Besides, making questionnaires to survey and statistic on
previously investigated data was completed by me, with the help of my partner Quan.
DETAILS:
1. Research and survey:

I chose the topic for this project, and searched information on online
newspapers, blogs, social networks, etc. to more understand the origin,
the reasons and the consequences of the pressure The pressure of learning
comes from family.
From the information I found, I selected and made a short questionnaire
to survey several students of the University of Greenwich. My partner
and I surveyed in some other classes, then collected the data collected and
created a chart, based on that chart to draw conclusions.

2. Ideas
• To make the project synchronized, we decided to select the word
"UNDERSTANDING" as a link to link the blueprints. I redesigned

by putting two faces facing each other like a conversation between
parents and children, increasing the mental harmony between
parents and children.
• My original idea was a picture of a child with a half brain being cut
off, filled with countless professions and plans they wanted in the
future, but then I realized that image was not enough to show about
the understanding between parents and children, so I started to turn
to another option, which is a heart with many dreams and wishes,
like a miniature universe, it contains a lot of intentions and
thoughts of the child. Wrapping up is the hands of their parents,
meaning that they will be the ones who will motivate their children
in the journey to conquer their dreams and choose their future, they
will be the guide. never force or forbid me to do something I'm
passionate about (if it's a good thing).

The brochure that have information about topic, include 4
illustration of 4 poster to make the connect. Because the target
audience is parents, we don't plan to follow the traditional direction
that the product for parents has to be a little adult-oriented, which

will do the opposite, using fresh colors, gradients or holographic to
simulate the words of the children to their parents.
3. Sketch and Design
I started sketching my ideas on paper, then asked for the advice and input
of the instructor, and then scanned the sketch onto a computer, started
designing in photoshop. When I finished drawing, I started to fill the
color, after many color changes, the position of the elements, the balance
and the layout, I asked the guidance of the instructor and decided the final
color option was holographic, to create bright, eye-catching look and
create a warm, fun feeling so that messages can easily be conveyed.
PROBLEMS:
The group is created by the similarity of the teamwork of each member,
but in the process of doing so there are still many difficult problems.
• Deadline was delayed too much due to the delay of several
members of the group, I tried to overcome by creating an operation
management board and giving a deadline but it was still not
feasible.
• Most of my activities have only the support of my partner - Quan.
The cooperation of the other members is very superficial, not
responsible for the work, resulting in unevenly divided workload.
• When the survey encountered a few small problems, we were
forced to do a second survey.
• The group report is almost exclusively with my partner – Quan.
RESOLUTION:
We are forced to work together with each other's partners, complete each
stage, and cannot wait for fear of being late.
PROS AND CONS:
 I think my best advantage is the sense of responsibility when
working in a group, not delaying time and affecting other members,
I have passed the deadline I set for the group, can use use software

enough to complete my design and help my partner.
 My downside is not leading the members optimally.

EVALUATE:
I think the goal of the initial project we set out and the results at its
completion are not really close to each other. In my opinion, because the
performance is not high and there is no connection among the team
members, so the results are not satisfactory.

EXPERIENCES:
After this project, I learned a lot of things. That is accountability to
myself. And learn more design skills, processes to create a project, how to
partner with partners to complete the design. Self-discipline, self-control
and self-esteem when working in a team.
