stuff like this is always super fun.
I feel beautiful.
You look it, too. So what’s next
now that DOI ’s done and dusted?
A lie-down! It was so challenging.
I knew I’d have to be insanely

disciplined to do it, but that’s
exciting for me. When I’m really
focused on something, I’m at my
happiest. But it was tough.
Would you class yourself
as a workaholic?
I complain a lot about being tired
– I think I have some vitamin
deficiencies and I do tend to have
lower energy levels. I wouldn’t
say I’m a workaholic, but if the
work isn’t done to my standard,
then I’m gonna keep going until
I feel like it’s been done well.
Has being such a grafter ever
harmed your health?
Oh, absolutely. On Dancing On
Ice I was sick the entire time.
It was like a cold I couldn’t shake,
or a virus that wouldn’t go away.
It was a clear indication that
I was working myself into the
ground. But I’m used to working
through it. In the Dolls we kept
going, no matter how hard it was.
And how hard did it get?
I suffered hearing loss through
severe sinus infection and I lost
my sense of smell, which affected
my sense of taste. I’m glad I was

young enough that it came back.
I had syringes up my nose to get
steroid shots into my system – we
were being worked that hard. It
was crazy and really intense. So
I knew what to expect doing DOI.
But it was a good experience.
I learned to skate and I love it.

What did you think of your
co-stars on the show?
I really liked everyone. I was
particularly close to Brian
McFadden. He’s a genuinely
awesome human being. I know
there were loads of headlines
about Gemma Collins, but I think
that she’s quite sensitive.
We had sources on set telling
us Gemma held up filming…
She did. A lot. She was always
so late to set. But I don’t know
how much of that was just her
being nervous about being on
the ice. I see it from both sides.

From a production point of view,
you lose money when things run
late. Time is money.
What do you make of all the
Wes and Vanessa gossip?
I was reading something on
Twitter about them hooking
up at the after-party, but I didn’t
notice anything. I think their
chemistry is real, for sure.
They were awesome partners

and they were great on the ice
together – but I have absolutely
no idea if there was anything
more to it.
Did you ever meet Megan
Barton-Hanson?
I did and I really liked her. I think
it must have been challenging
for her – to know the person
you love is doing the show,
dancing and working so closely
with another woman. I don’t
know that I’m cut from the same
cloth, because to me it’s a job.
It’s like being married to an
actor. You just have to deal
with the love scenes. You don’t
have a choice.

So do you think that Megan
overreacted when she called
Vanessa out?
I’m not going to say that
because I’m not in her shoes.
But in general it’s important
to love yourself and then be
confident the person you’re
with loves you back.

with your love life?
I would like to meet a really nice
guy who respects himself. The
challenge I run into is that I fight
for my freedom – I need space to
be creative. Often in relationships
I’m treated like a possession.

I can’t do this, I can’t do that or I
can’t take a job. I don’t need that!
I need a wild horse. Someone
who lets me run free too.
We saw you got some V-Day
flowers…
OK, so I was confused by this.
The flowers were beautiful and
I figured it was from the Dancing
On Ice team but then there was
this cryptic note saying, “You’ve
got a Valentine” – with no name.
I think it was a joke, but I’m
still not sure. The person who
I thought the flowers were from
swore it wasn’t him.
Who’s that then?
I really don’t want to say because
it’s embarrassing.
Would we know him?
You would, but I’m not going to
say because I don’t think he likes
me. So that sucks.
So who would be your ideal
celeb man?
It would be someone who’s in
the industry and someone who
understands it. Someone who is
creative, but isn’t the main talent
or the principal on the bill. And

that’s not because I want the
spotlight on me – it’s because I
find women in the industry very
different to male talent. Men in
the spotlight need a lot of ego
stroking, whereas women don’t.
I tend to click with other creative
people – guys who create stuff,
you know, directors, producers,
people like that.
Would you like children one day?
I really would. But I have to find
the right guy. I’d be up for freezing
my eggs if need be. I know it’s
a controversial topic. Some
people say if you have to freeze
your eggs, then maybe you’re
not supposed to have children.
But if there was a refrigerator
that kept your chicken good
for six days instead of four, why
not go for it?

has been lucky in love – do

I’ve only met him once, but I know
she’s really happy. And she

each other, you hang out
and you think you’ll be in
each other’s life forever.
But then life takes different
directions. I’m in Europe

used to go to. My car was
vandalised, my sister’s car,
