Cách dùng
- Dùng để chỉ những việc xảy ra đều đặn, thường
xuyên.
VD: I often go to the park with my boyfriend. (Tôi
thường đi đến công viên với bạn trai mình.)
What do you usually do after dinner? (bạn thường làm
gì sau bữa tối?)
- Dùng để chỉ một sự thật luôn đúng, một chân lý.
VD: The sun rises in the East and sets in the West. (mặt
trời mọc ở phía Đông và lặn ở phía Tây.)
- Dùng để chỉ một ý thích, cảm xúc, một lịch trình có
sẵn.
VD: I fall in love with the little girl in the first table.
(Tôi yêu cô gái nhỏ nhắn ở bàn đầu.)
She is interested in romantic fictions. (Cô ấy thích tiểu
thuyết lãng mạn.)
The train leaves for Ha Noi at 10 a.m. (Chuyển tàu đi
đến Hà Nội lúc 10 giờ)

- Chỉ một hành động đang xảy ra tại thời điểm nói
VD: They are going together now. (Hiện giờ họ đang
đi cùng nhau đấy.)
- Chỉ một hành động sắp xảy ra (chỉ ý tương lai)
VD: They are coming tomorrow. (Ngày mai anh ta sẽ
đến)


Dấu hiệu nhận biết
Thì hiện tại đơn giản thường có những trạng từ chỉ mức
độ thường xuyên đi kèm như:
- usually, often, sometimes, frequently, always,
never….
- every day, every month, every week,….
- once/ twice/ three….. times a week/ month….

Các trạng từ đi kèm thì hiện tại tiếp diễn là:
- now
-right now
-at present
- at the moment.

Chú ý
- Với những chủ ngữ số ít, động từ thêm s nhưng khi
động từ có tận cùng là o, sh, s, ch, x, z, chúng mình
thêm ES.
VD: He teachesFrench.

- Với những động từ tận cùng là e thì chúng mình
bỏ e này đi trước khi thêm ing. (trừ các động từ : to
age (già đi), to dye (nhuộm), to singe (cháy xém) và
các động từ tận từ làee
VD: arrine =? arriving

- Với những động từ tận cùng là y và đứng trước nó là
một phụ âm, thì chúng mình đổi ythành i trước khi
thêm es nhé.

VD: John tries to move the table

- Nếu động từ tận cùng là iethì đổi thành y rồi mới
thêming nhé.
VD: lie --> lying
- Khi động từ tận cùng là l mà trước nó là 1 nguyên âm

âm thì chúng ta nhân đôi phụ âm cuối lên rồi thêm ing.
