Getting started-listen & read
I.Objectives::
• To understand the dialogue about the life of many years ago
• To tell about the activities people used to do in the past
II.Preparation
Teaching aids : Textbooks ,sub-board, pictures,cassette.
III. Procedure :

1. Warm-up:5'
• Have Ss look at the picture/p38 and name things that do not belong to
the past.-check and correct.
key: lighting fixture; TV;mobile phone; stereo;school uniform; modern
clothing
what didn’t we have in Vietnam 100 years ago?
100 years ago, we didn’t have TV.
• Group work
• Take note
• Listen-answer
2. Presentation:10'
• Use the picture to set the scene:Nga’s grandma is talking to Nga about
her life in the past.
Pre-teach some new words:
Look after(v)= take care of
equipment:washing machine,fridge…
modern > < tranditional


folktale: Tam Cam,So Dua…
Great grandma= grandma’s mother
guiding questions:
1. Where did Nga’s Grandma use to live?
• Listen to the scene
