I.Objectives::
To develop Ss’ writing skill.
To practise writng a short imaginary story with given cues.
II.Preparation
Teaching aids : Textbooks ,sub-board, pictures.

• Eliciting questions:
Which is a Vietnamse folktale about a farmer, a buffalo and a tiger?
-“ Trí Khoân cuûa ta ñaây”
-wisdom (n) (translation)
• Use the pictures to review Ss about the story and pre-teach new
words:
-graze(v) (picture)
The buffalo was grazing on the farm
-master(n) > < servant (n) (translation)
-stripe (n) (picture)
• Introduce the story: “ How the tiger got tripes”
• Have Ss complete the story with the verbs in the box/ 42

• Have Ss role the play of the man in the story and write the story
with the cues given.
Suggested writing:
One day as I was on the field and my buffalowas grazing nearby,a tiger
came. It asked why strong buffalo was my servant and why I was its
master. I told the tiger that I had something called wisdom. The tiger
wanted to see it, but I told it I left the wisdom at home. Then I tied the
tiger to a tree with a rope because I didn’t want it to eat my buffalo. I
went to get some straw that I said was my wisdom and I burned the
tiger. The tiger escaped, but today it still has black stripes from the
burns.
