Picture 2.1. My working position at the Sales Department
2.2. Difficulties and lesson
2.2.1. Difficulties
During my internship, I still face quite a lot of difficulties.
First is the office work. When I started my internship, I was often assigned the
task of printing and photocopying papers. However, due to less use of these machines
before, so many cases I was confused and made mistakes. I have difficulty printing
two sides of the ID on the same page and fixing the basic errors of the machine such as
running out of ink, running out of paper, adjusting brightness, etc. I often take a long
time to complete my work and sometimes need help from the companion. Moreover,
the job of checking and arranging documents for me is not easy. In the beginning, I
was easily confused by the types of documents because there were so many different
types.

Second is my translation and interpretation work. At first when I first dealt with
the translation of documents, text from English into Vietnamese and vice versa, I still
has difficulty using words because of my vocabulary in import and export limit. So it
took me a long time to complete an translation and still make mistakes in the use of
words.
Moreover, due to lack of interaction with foreigners, I was still in confident and
confused when communicating with them. For example, when calling the customer, I

can not start an conversation so that the conversation is flowing and persuade
customers to use the products and services of my company to public.
2.2.2 Lessons
After a month of practicing at the Sales Department of Tan Tai Limited
Company, I have learned a lot from the staffs in the room and accumulated valuable
lessons. This is useful for my translation and interpreting work. Specific lessons are as
follows:
For the translation and interpretation work, I myself draws some very useful
experience. When translating a text I must be really focused and not distracted into
other tasks. Before translation, I need to understand the translation materials in order
to have the preparation in advance such as find dictionary, specialized vocabulary to
help translate faster and more accurately. When translating, it is important to analyze
the structure of the sentence to translate the stars so that the reader understands or does
not misunderstand the contents of the original text. If I have difficulty in compiling, do
not be embarrassed or careless to consult the opinion of experienced people, which
will have the correct translation and meet the requirements. Moreover, in order to
make it easier to translate, I need to learn and leverage my vocabulary in many
different disciplines, accumulating my basic knowledge for better translation and more
accuracy. When translating, it is important to understand the context of the text,
translate it in Vietnamese and English, not to stick to it, to translate words that are
difficult to understand and lack of coherence. Moreover, after the translation I have to

check several times to make appropriate adjustments to help translate the text to meet
the requirements.
Apart from the main job as translator and translator, I also practiced some office
work, so I also had some experience such as arranging and managing files, training
using office software, preparing documents for transactions, purchase contracts with
partners.
In communicating environment with the staff in the organization, I myself noticed
that the fun, warmth, proactiveness and enthusiasm are very importance to make
comfortable atmosphere among peole. Consiquently, working operation are smooth.
Through customer’s call, I had the opportunity to meet with many people,

especially to exchange information with customers who are foreign partners. Since
then, I can be more confident in daily communicating in English.

PART 3 : SITUATION OF USING ENGLISH IN WORKPLACE
3.1. The situation
In recent years, as Vietnam's economy is getting more and more integrated with
the world economy, the requirements of business units are not limited to professional
level, highly qualified, but also requires applicants must have flexible social skills and
excellent foreign language skills. Nowadays, English has become an important part of
the business of every business. It is an important factor for enterprises to take
advantage of opportunities to exploit new markets as well as seek and negotiate with
others. Foreign investment
Grasping the trend of global integration of the country, the Government has
proposed advocating the requirement of universal English as a practical tool for the
integration and modernization of the country. Ministries, committees, branches and
agencies of state-owned enterprises have taken this directive seriously and put in place
certain English language requirements for civil servants in the organizational
apparatus.

Operating in the field of plastic products for the civil and industrial markets, Tan
Tai Co., Ltd. is using English most in business negotiation with foreign partners and
construction to make the image of the company on the market. Since the company's
partners include both domestic and foreign companies, mainly in Asia, most of the
company's employees are trained to negotiate, write emails, communicate and execute
contract transactions in English. . . Up to now, about 40% of our full-time office staff

have been able to use English to communicate in fairly good terms.
However, 40% is not a high figure and most of the English language proficiency
of the company is mainly in the trainee of the University of the English Faculty
together with technical engineers. As far as interns are concerned, this is a less
engaging force with a long-term company, which makes it difficult to mobilize
manpower for extraordinary work. Most of the engineers and office workers only have
the ability to read and understand English, but they are not good at communicating and
writing business emails and international contracts. This makes it difficult for the
company to respond to a lack of good English language skills or to make mistakes in
negotiating or establishing business contracts due to language barriers.
In addition, due to the specific nature of the occupation, the facilitation of the
training and learning of the company's English is not yet thorough. Therefore, these
are still barriers and obstacles that make the company unable to catch up with many
modern foreign technologies, as well as causing difficulties in doing business with
other partners. Foreign Affair.
3.2. Proposed research proplems
To overcome the situation of professional staff with expertise but English skills
are limited and in order to serve business expansion in the future, the management of
Tan Tai company should plan to train foreign languages, improve staff's English
proficiency by enabling employees to attend business English courses. The courses
will focus on training and improving your English skills in daily tasks such as writing
emails, talking on the phone, presenting, negotiating, selling and marketing of

employees, and helping corporate employees improve their listening and speaking
skills - two important skills for the success of the business. With staff who have a basic
English language background but are not really good, they will be considered to
communicate with clients and professionals to learn from experience. In addition, it is
necessary to encourage them to use English in the Company in order to increase
foreign language reflexes. For example, the Company may organize contests that use
English language for employees in the Company have the opportunity to train and
demonstrate their ability.
In addition, the Board should recommend strengthening the bilingual approach in
all business activities. The official website of the company should also be designed to
display in both Vietnamese and English, making the company's products accessible to

customers around the world.
Besides, in order to make the company's working environment more professional,
the Company needs to amend the recruitment requirements. Candidates who are fluent
in English with good communication skills will be considered as one of the most
favorable conditions to apply for the position.
The company can arrange for qualified staff to participate in workshops sharing
experience learning English organized by the domestic and foreign units. At the same
time support in terms of finance, work and apply policies that encourage foreign
language acquisition such as salary increases, incentives to encourage the learning
spirit of employees throughout the company.

PART 4 : PROPOSING GRADUATION THESIS TOPIC
4.1: Problems about language skills – Analyze the elements to become a good
commercial English translator.
4.2 : Problems about language skills - Presentation skill, how to build up confident and
improve spoken English.

CONCLUSION

During the internship as a trainee at Tan Tai Limited Company, I have had the
opportunity to use the knowledge learned in the school about English in practice. At
the same time, I also learned many useful things about working methods, behavior,
spirit as well as soft skills in behavior and communication in state enterprise
environment. These precious experiences have helped me to have a clearer direction of
my future career.
With the experience of the past, along with the knowledge and self, I write this
report to introduce and describe the truth about the practice, point out and propose a
number of awards, remedy the remaining limitation of the Company. I would like
these ideas will contribute to promote the development of the company in the future.
Finally, I would like to send my thanks again to the teachers of English Faculty
and the management and staff of Tan Tai Limited Company, who helped me finish this
report.
